at this point, it ain’t ‘micro’ any more. like 20 bucks for that set? 1/6th the price of the campaign? nah man, 343 is high if they’re asking for that. they’re just following the trends for easy money. rip halo

It’s pretty terrible, especially in stark comparison to what we were promised with customization.

Halo was never like this for vertrans. this is more of a betrayal. The game wasn’t like any other and now they’ve decided to become part of a scamming system.
Its unusual and it’s a major issue. If someone wants the multiplayer but has to pay for the battlepass that’s fare because your correct the multiplayer is free. But those who bought the game itself should have full access otherwise we just bought half a game at full price.

I can’t imagine living a life where an optional cosmetic in a part of a game that’s entirely out of the way that was in no way tied to the gameplay experience would be a reason I would immediately stop playing a free game I was having fun with.

By the way some of these posts are describing the player’s experience with the game, you’d be forgiven if you thought this is already the case.

Yes, and it’s been very buggy and lacking, even after the campaign released.
I haven’t even been able to play Big Team Battle today (it keeps saying there’s something wrong with the server), and I think others have been having that issue intermittently for a while.
Custom games are also very buggy.
Saying it’s free doesn’t make the prices reasonable or make the game better than or on a par with the previous multiplayer modes.
Also, if I recall, for Halo 3, 4 and Reach, the multiplayer didn’t feel anywhere near as buggy or lacking at release, and the multiplayer modes were included with the campaigns and many customization options.
The campaign is the same price, yet it gets you an apparently mediocre semi-open world with an okay story and some customization items (but no armor sets).
It’s really not something to defend at this point.

technically, to those who think the ‘free to play’ excuse is valid… then that applies to games of old too.
just like infintie… you’re playing 60 just for the campaign, whiles everything else is just free DLC attached to it :3

It’s funny, but the game being free is like a meta joke now.
“You cannot complain about optional purchases, and MP is free, and campaign is on gamepass”
343i and MS have created an ironclad defense of this game and it’s systems. Maybe that’s why it took 6 years?

6 years to research and find any convenient and coincidental excuses to monetize halo with no care in the world whiles also making things stupid pricy and non halo? yeah, it may be all tin foil hat like, but i’d believe it

i get the point of not crying over a “free game” as some people have said but some people have spent money on the campaign, and multiplayer has always been apart of halo, so 343 charging full price for campaign “solo”, and then claiming multiplayer is free, but their was no price difference to the story mode, kinda low-key pointless IMO, as they know alot of fans will buy it as the story is what most of us halo vet’s are here for, multiplayer is second,
and my second point, cosmetic’s used to be unlockable, from halo 3 onwards, great examples E.O.D + Hayabusa Armour + Katana, but now its just paint jobs and now its just monetized trash…
its 343’s excuse “their 2 separate games, so they can generate their own incomes”
but if it wasent for story mode, i dont think multiplayer thrive tbh.
but in fairness, the campaign is pretty good in this one,
