Should I know anything before I switch to Halo 5?
Don’t sell scout warthogs
- If you’re here for the campaign, you’ll be disappointed from what you yet will see - Multiplayer on the other hand is great. Gameplay is great even though there some flaws with it. The weapon sandbox is the most balance I ever tried even though some of those weapons need some tweaking. I’m currently mix on dev-made maps and still holding for 1 Team Objective gametypes and hope for dev-made BTB maps. This of course is my perspective of the game. Don’t be surprised if your view of Halo 5 differs from mine.
switch to halo 5 from what?
Not too much important stuff, though there are a few things:
-Avoid Warzone at first. If you’re new, you’ll probably have a horrible experience at this point in the game’s life. Instead, play Arena modes to build up your REQ collection and get some experience with the game before going in.
-Go into campaign with low expectations. The story is… not great.
-Use the Bronze>Silver>Gold method for your REQ collection. Go through Bronze packs first to get all of the Common stuff, then Silver for Uncommon and Rare, and finish off with Gold for Ultra Rare and Legendary. If you feel that Bronze packs are inefficient, skip them and get all of the Common REQs (except for Mongooses) in Silver packs.
Be prepared for a massive download that could take days literally. Right now mine is taking up 97.8 GB’s. I would suggest a wired connection to download.
I am a biased Halo player. I exclusively play Halo. I watch Halo videos, and post on Waypoint almost daily. My twitter is all about Halo. So I would naturally say you should get Halo 5, but then again I am just a Halo gamer not a gamer.
Get ready for a HUGE download. You’ll have to get every update since launch, and they’re well into the gigabytes. Hope you’re patient.

TBH, I actually laughed at that 2nd paragraph you wrote there. I don’t know why.

oh then you are not new to halo. Besides weapon skins, abilities and no load outs ( except warzone) the game still feels like halo.
and ranking system since reach and H4 did not have one.
Im sure you watched halo 5 streams before though.
Warzone assault/swat pay the most req points per hour. You can play mythic warzone firefight on the weekends but don’t expect to win much because you need reqs to win.
I heard silver gold then bronze is the most efficient way of getting everything
Automatic weapons are great, sometimes more effective than precision weapons in close quarters
Crouching makes a pretty big difference in accuracy
Untoggle crouch and you can do a fun trick Sprint thrust slide and jump
Welcome, Halo 5 Spartan
The multiplayer is good but can be really frustrating at times (ex: one team being far more skilled than the other). You are bound to find a playlist you will like because the game has something for everyone. If you are competitive, ranked playlists are for you. If you like chilling out while playing, social playlists or the custom games browser are where you should go (although to be fair, social playlists get really competitive too).
As mentioned before, if you enjoyed the story of the previous Halo games, you will likely not enjoy this one. The gameplay is fine, but the story is not very well executed.

Halo 5’s MP is a huge improvement over both in my opinion, but reach’s art style is way better. I definitely think you should get it. I’ve been playing since launch, and still would be playing daily if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve switched over to PC and can’t really aim on console anymore. I still would play it as my main game if Microsoft would just add it to PC. Sorry for getting off topic, but yeah, it’s definitely worth a buy.
just be aware that the game is alrdy one and a half year old, so it isn’t particularly newcomer friendly. If u’re a solo querer be prepared facing full teams.

In a good way but at the same time in a stereotypical way of how society picture us gamers back in the day or maybe now. Sounds hypocritical of me, but that’s I how feel from reading that for some reason.
Story is a no go, but with the forge, mp, customs you will still enjoy it, my favorite halo since 3. Just need to fix the art style
It’s like halo 2 with Spartan abilities.
if you are getting it for the campaign, dont bother. You will just regret it afterwards.
if you are going to get it for multiplayer. Then it depends of the person who likes it. Its faster paced than previous installments, sprinting delays shield regeneration and it feels more CoD like than ever but not exactly the same.
the forge is pretty good if you like that. It has lot more options.
overall i wouldnt recommend it but its your money and i believe a few comments wont change your mind for i believe you have already made your mind based on some clips perhaps.
