Do you really think the pelican is a good idea?
Almost everyoe is asking for them but what if we get it and it turns out to be not much fun. When I heard about armor lock it sounded cool, but then when it came it was sucking out the fun. Look at COD. One guy told me that when the preditor bombs (I think thats what there called) came people found them cool but later some people started to hate them. It was becoming something that new comers could use to dominate. Thats why the target locater isn’t in Reach multiplayer matchmaking or custum games. So tell me if we should have a really strong flying machine to be cheap with. If someone could tell me a way to make it more equal ( because nothing is completely equal, e.g. banshee vs 1 spartan) tell me.
Sorry didn’t completely spell check, everyoe is everyone.
well one way to introduce the pelican into halo 4 matchmaking would be to have an enemy vehical (land or air) that was as powerful as the pelican.
I think that it needs a weak cannon, and should be solely transport, but with enough firepower to stay alive until you drop off your squad.
So, in my opinion, the pelican is a yes. But only as a team-based tool in battle. Just don’t crash, we will only laugh.
But the width of the pelican is wide so its a splater spree machine, it’s a forward flyer like the banshee but bigger then a falcon. The banshee can fly forward because it’s small. The falcon can move more up and downish so it can be that big because if smaller it will have less chance to splatter then the banshee, and as I said everything has to be a little equal. Even if the falcon drops down to splatter. This is probably one of the reasons Bunjie never gave us the pelican.

sorry I made a mistake, accidentlly posted twice
If the only weapon was the turret on the back, it would be fairly equalled.

I think the Pelican will fly like the Hornet from Halo 3. It has the same thrust vectoring jet concept. I would like to see it in multiplayer, but to have such a big and bulky thing in an average size Halo map wouldn’t work so well. I wouldn’t call it a splattering machine. Look at the bottom:

It’s not really mush bigger than the Falcon and the rest of the ship would prevent it from getting to close to the ground in tight areas. I don’t think it should have very powerful weapons. Maybe week rockets for the pilot and a turret for the passengers in the back, but that’s about it. Another option would be to have an AI drive to scripted locations so that players can get around large maps more easily. But I do hope to see it as a playable vehicle in Halo 4. Here is an easter egg showing how it might handle:
Thanks Mr Hover Round, you got that question answered. Now who ever has a drivable pelican question ask. The more questions the better a halo 4 drivable pelican will be.
The Pelican is the CH-47 of the future. It transports troops and equipment. It would only be useful on a map much larger than anything we have played on to date. Imagine a map where you respawned at a base that was so far away you needed transport to get back to the action, and where warthogs and scorpions were brought to you when you were short.
Hornets and Falcons fit the maps we’re used to. Pelicans require something more.

Yeah, there is no reason on this planet, or in the whole universe, for something to NOT be in CUSTOM GAMES…think about that idea–custom games. They are custom. You play them with friends. Boom. Everything should be available.

how about 2 types of pelicans.
1 has guns and carries 4 people total, whilst the other has no guns and carries 6 people total.
this seems like a good way to approach your perceived problem.
if the best the pelican can do is drop people off on random bits of the map, it probably wouldnt be too bad to have in big team multiplayer games, especially with things like the rockets (if they can actually lock on in H4 T.T) and the laser to keep them in check.
