Things you will probs miss from H5 (& prior games)

Hi, so I think we all have things we miss from each installment of Halo that don’t end up being included [often] in subsequent games. For Halo 5, try to focus on features that you think will be removed for subsequent games. Also try to cover as many games as you can

Halo CE: The elites sounded so much more alien and evil. Also the way they screamed after getting blown up was pretty funny.

I miss the Cortana from this game as well. I felt like we were a team. :"(Halo 2: The way the scorpion handled was so great. The turret and the chassis moved completely independently and it was very easy to maneuver while looking in another direction.
Halo 3: Dual wield. Sorry if that was cliche. I don’t think it has been used since and as a player who enjoys CQC, I dearly miss it (granted it causes a host of balance issues). If that wasn’t a good one, I miss the standard controls from H3 where the bumpers were reload, pick up, and board/enter vehicles. It worked well with classic halo but idk if it would work in Halo 5: Guardians. Also the flame thrower and equipment were fun. And brutes/brute tech. God this game was great!
Halo ODST: The way firefight “flowed” was really sick. By that, I mean the way the waves, sets, and rounds progressed as well as the weapon spawns and life system.
Halo Reach: Given that it takes place before the other Halo games, It makes sense that a lot of the weapons were phased out by the humans and the covenant. But of course the humans got the DMR, the grenade launcher, etc. back. But sadly the covenant weapons (focus rifle, needle rifle, revenant,) and vehicles are nowhere to be found. Granted, I really loved the falcon and I would love to see that piece of UNSC tech available once again. The armor abilities were cool, but in a way I like when we all have the same ones.
Halo 4: This was a fairly radical departure from the usual games and everything was controversial. There’s not much I miss a heck of a lot from this game, as most of it is featured in Halo 5: Guardians. The loadout options and the weapon requests were alright. I will say this: some weapons had absolutely amazing sounds and sweet designs. The needler comes to mind.
Halo 5: Guardians: On one hand this is the most radical departure from the first few games. It’s very fast paced and Spartans are incredibly powerful. I think I will most likely be missing that because I don’t think I have ever heard a good comment about spartan charge or ground pound. Even sprint gets knocked and you never hear a thing about anyone liking clamber or aim stabilization. I think a lot of it will be ripped out of the next games. If I had to choose one other thing, it’s the balance. I love the way they have balanced this game given all of the req and vehicle options and I think the req system might get streamlined.

  • Halo CE: Foehammer, easily. But I also miss the funny Elite death screams. I loved it when they were like WRROOOOOAAUGGHHHH - Halo 2: I dunno, the Spectre? - Halo 3: Chips Dubbo - Halo 3 ODST: The music - Halo Reach: I miss a lot of things from Halo Reach. Forge World, the birthday party effect, the Revenant, BTB on Spire… - Halo 4: I’ve gotta agree with you about the sound effects design. All the weapons and vehicles sounded so beefy (except the battle rifle and Storm rifle). I remember my first time picking up a DMR in Halo 4. I was playing campaign and I thought it sounded like Halo Reach’s sniper rifle. - Halo 5: Can’t say for sure yet, but if Yabda the Merciless doesn’t return as an announcer, I will be sad.

Halo CE:The AR sound, but I know it only fitted into this game.
Halo2:
Halo3:Chips Duboo
Halo3ODST:
Halo4:The Broadsword and Pelican flight, but again, they should stay exclusive.
Halo5:AirAssault armor set.

I really loved the spectre. That thing was a monster and it never made a return. I think the prowler in Halo 3 was the spiritual successor but that thing sure brings back good memories!

ce: the covie stuff were so smooth and I kinda want that back. I know it’s because of xbox graphics at the time but it still fit in really well. plus the assault rifle just felt powerful.
h2: dual wielding needlers and those really awesome pistols. but most importantly the diverse soundtrack.
h3: equipment please bring it back!
odst: had a dark and lonely atmosphere which felt really nice for a halo game. plus that jazz music fits right in with halo
reach: forerunner styled buildings in forge. and the falcon.
h4: turrets. those turrets used in dominion that we got in forge, yeah it’d be nice to see something like that again.
h5: I feel like weapon and vehicle variations might be removed in the next halo, but honestly that was one of my favorite things about halo 5.

What I miss:

CE: The sense of discovery.
H2: The novelty of xbox live.
H3: The possibility that I might still get better at the game.
Reach: The bad design decisions which, in retrospect, weren’t all that bad. And firefight. Oh, how I miss firefight.
H4: Everything.

What I will miss:

H5. Nothing.

Well halo ce: the overly powered magnum lol
Halo 2: that annoying but fun legendary campaign
Halo 3: absolutely NOTHING that game was worse than 4
Halo reach: the customization
Halo ODST: being able to play as a ODST
Halo 4:um… I’ll just, um… you know just,I’m just gonna leave this blank
Halo 5: I’ll probably miss clamber, thruster, and slide since halo 6 is probably gonna be halo 3 all over again sigh well at least I have battlefront 2

You want me to write a book or what, lol? I’ll just do it for CE.

CE: Can everything be an answer? Being able to explore the huge campaign levels, fighting these crazy, but loveable aliens and scary Flood. The music just setting the tone and scene in this mysterious universe. The multiplayer having so many levels of depth, but simple enough to enjoy with the most casual of play as well as having a bunch of great maps. The weapons themselves fitting into their own role. The pistol being a 3SK, but it required skill to do so having minimal aim helpers and being projectile, the Covenant weapons having stun abilities, and the AR only really being good for close range, but it also had a melee advantage. Even the powerups looked the best in the series and you could nade them to you which goes back to my depth comment. All the tricks as well like backpack reload, quick camo and the melee trick to name a few. I’ll stop there I guess. Edit: I almost forgot, but I’ll really miss Warthog flying where you stick a bunch of sticky nades on the Hog and you go flying.

H2: I’ll go with recon’s answer and say Xbox Live. It changed console gaming forever. Also, all the playlists that came with the game. There were a lot to choose from and they included gametypes like 1 bomb and flag which we didn’t get in H5. The one thing that I really miss is map exploring with friends. Using all the tricks like sword flying and butterflying to get out of the maps to explore them was an amazing time.

H3: I didn’t really play it much until MCC. I really liked the spike grenades so not sure if that will return or not in H6. One thing that I don’t think will return is the art design. It had a unique look to it which was pretty cool.

Reach: I’d say single player Firefight was great. I’m wondering if Invasion would return as well. The armor customization and the armor effects (inclement weather) were also good. The Falcon like previously mentioned would also be a question of returning. For weapons, the microwave focus rifle may or may not return again.

H4: Hmmm, maybe a couple decent gametypes might not return like Extraction or Dominion.

H5: Not sure what won’t return that was interesting. I know people liked the voices of war pack so maybe that won’t return or maybe it will be expanded on.

Yes, and I also felt like Halo Reach’s Revenant was sort of a Spectre successor too. I’d like to see it return someday
