Things you LIKE about Halo Infinite

It’s been years since I’ve made a forum lol. Anyways, I’ve been seeing a lot of negative and bad comments about Halo Infinite after today’s gameplay video. What is something you like from Halo Infinite or made you happy based on the recent gameplay?

Here’s a few of my thoughts:

  • I like how we get to fight the Banished now because I didn’t really like the Prometheans - The music is great like always - Master Chief’s armor looks really cool - The new weapons look interesting but I hope we get the old ones too (For example, the classic shotgun)
  • The change up from Prometheans to the Banished feels so good. The Prometheans were a pain to deal with. - The music is amazing. It feels different from Marty, but really good nonetheless. - The dynamic between Brohammer and the Chief is intriguing. I’m thinking it’ll be a plot point. - Love how the Warthog seems to handle, and feels like a good mix between CE and 3.
  • Open world, bold move by 343i hope it pays off - Art style looks amazing so far - Apparently the game is huge, like explore the entire ring huge - Master Chief looks so much better. Best he’s looked since Halo 3.
  • CGI in the mjolnir trailer
  • expanded sandbox / open world
  • animals (looked animated naturally, made the game look alive, interesting they wasted time on those instead of a phantom)
  • day/night cycle, meaning some missions will play different at night possibly, anyway adds to the scenery and realism
  • chief’s look
  • HUD
  • Mix of different aliens design (grunts of different types, they all looked like clones in past games)
  • I think the mud looked great but not sure the physics of traces actually worked
  • interesting to have some new weapons, but bad if they just replace the old ones
  • brutes add variety to the enemy
  • Chief, the pilot, and the elites are looking FINE. Certainly a return to classic form.
  • Aiming down sight (ADS) seems to be removed.- Warthog physics seemed cool. I like the drifting animation.
  • Chief and Pilot dialogue was good. Nice to see some more human storytelling. Chief seems to be back to normal personality-wise.
  • Story abandoned much of Halo 5, which I am happy about.
  • Art style overall seems improved (but it’s not perfect).
  • Music is good!
  • Chief is looking spectacular
  • Brutes look to be more fun
  • Lack of Prometheans
  • Elites
  • Weighty impacting feel to weapons
  • ADS thankfully removed
  • Likable pilot
  • Fun fast paced flow to combat like HaloCE
  • Shotgun actually has some range at last like it did in CE. Amazing
  • Assault Rifle isn’t overly deafening like it is in MCC
  • No enemy snipers to slow down the fun pace of combat. Again a great nod to CE

I like that Master Chief is the main character again in the upcoming Halo Infinite. I also like that the Halo Reach Assault Rifle coming back in the new Halo video game. And, I am very excited that Halo Infinite will have open world gameplay.

  • Open world looks crazy awesome - Grappling hook adds cool new abilities (like the fuel canister yeet attack) - Brutes look cool - AR and Magnum look and sound awesome - New guns look interesting - Can’t wait to see what else is coming…
  • The Elites - maybe we get back our - Woot woot woot!
  • Open world: I was getting Borderlands vibes (been playing it quite a bit the last month) in the sense of how open and massive it feels. There looks to be “strongholds” of enemies at points of interest with some clearer areas for exploration of the ring (HIGHLY doubt this will be a thing but it would be amazing to go the full length of the ring) - New Weapons: The new weapons appear to add some range in what the meta previously offered and I can’t wait to try them out WITH the old range we know and love. - Back to basics: No more character swapping or other fireteam missions, just 117, 24/7.
  • The return of the Brutes. - A different approach to campaign that’s more involved than just linear missions from a selection screen. - …?Seriously, I can’t think of anything else. Literally everything else about the game from current knowledge is a downgrade for me.
  • The view model of the Assault Rifle. It’s held just like the AR of Combat Evolved. - The return of more classic designs for various aliens, like Elites and Grunts. - The art style overall. - The Banished and their unique designs. - The new Grappling Hook. - The music. - The overall CE-influenced look and feel of the game so far. - The Chief’s armor.
