“Dislike” and “love” can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, of course. But in general what I’m asking is, what parts of Halo 4 were you initially skeptical about, but are now reasonably excited for? I feel we only ever hear from people who won’t budge from either side, and I’d like to hear from those who actually allowed their minds to be changed for the better.
Personally, the thing I was most skeptical about at first was the direction of the story, for a great variety of factors. This was, however, before the E3 demo, and before reading up on all the latest Halo novels. That, combined with the recent ViDocs, have convinced me that 343 Industries is really going the extra mile to provide something incredible and engaging, as well as more rewarding for fans of the extended fiction than any of the previous games have ever been.
But that’s just me, because I’m a story guy. XD Anyways, what are some of yours?
believe it or not, i was skeptical about the BR and DMR
Both in H3 and reach, i was miserable, because i am a fond user of the AR, and i SUCK with precision weapons, and i was constantly getting killed out too quickly by people using the two Percisions
now it looks like automatics are better balanced
and it looks a little easier to use the BR/DMR…
Matchmaking was actually the other thing I was going to say before I decided to stick with the campaign–I suppose I was always optimistic about it, but there was still the fear it would be unbalanced with all the new features–therefore, skepticism.
But honestly, hearing what people who’ve actually played the game had to say about it, and hearing 343i’s thought process and reasons for making such changes in the latest Sparkast as well as specifics as to how they benefit gameplay… I don’t really see a reason to worry about it anymore. There’s always the chance it could all still go to pot, but just because the chance is there doesn’t mean I can’t continue to be optimistic.

The AR in Halo 3 is actually really good, it’s my favorite weapon - Coming a 50 MLG player. If you want to play some Halo 3 hit me up - gt is davilundd.
-Elite Zealot: looks better than Reach Zealot
-Elite Warrior: looks better than Elite General
-Jackal: dives from grenades, orange shield
-Assault Rifle: viable
-Magnum: faster animations, viable sidearm
-Concussion Rifle: seems more balanced and viable
-Hologram: AI won’t fall for it more than once, received much needed changes
-Active Camo: seems viable
-Thuster Pack: looks fun
-Jetpack: what it should have been
-vehicles: the Hog is more sturdier, the Ghost looks great (also, glad to know it’s gun is actually viable), the Scorpion is more faster and balanced, the Banshee is slower (also, glad to know it’s gun is actually viable)
The armour and armoury. I thought it was going to be a bunch of new and ugly helmets, but now I know it’s Halo’s biggest armoury yet and is filled with impressive pieces of armour.

Originally I was skeptical about MM, but now I freaking love it and can’t wait to play it!! It looks fantastic and all the people that say they don’t like it will say the same when they get a chance to play. It looks like I will actually enjoy this game for the next 3 years.
