Things we'll miss in Halo 4 ( a Memorial)

Halo 4 fast approaches and with it an abundance of content and new toys to play with. The chief is finally returning and along with him the battle rifle and carbine and so many things we have loved in Halo for the past 11 years.

But alas, Halo 4 also leaves many favorites off the sandbox roster. So I made this thread to bid adieu to all the things we love about Halo, that wont be in Halo 4. We all hold out hope that these things will return someday as the Battle Rifle and Carbine did, but for now we can only give these items our appreciation and share with the community the fond memories they brought.

I’ll start us all off

In memory of the brute chopper

While you were only with us over the course of Halo 3. You remain in the hearts of us all. The way you fired a seemingly endless barrage of exploding projectiles and bursted through the battlefield carving up spartans and elites alike with your gargantuan blade like wheel. Though we hold out hope that you will someday return to the battlefield to once again be enjoyed, for now you have been passed over…and you will be missed.

In memory of dualwielding

Oh dualwielding, a power fantasy come true in Halo 2. While you were with us up and through the days of Halo 2 and Halo 3 you have since been abandoned, but not forgotten. How could we forget the insane combos you gave us. With a plasma rifle in one hand and an smg ( also gone) in the other. Or a plasma pistol with a magnum to insta-kill poor foes. Yes dualwielding brought with it so many possibilities and fun, but for now, it can only be experienced in our hearts. ( or by popping in halo 2-3)

Take it away community. remember its just for fun

Bloom

Oh bloom, it has been an insanely frustrating 2 years. You have created to many random situations that i cant list them with this 7500 character limit. You have made me rage quit, scream, complain, and abandon Halo for over a year. You made me snap Reach in half and learn patience with Nov 6th on the horizon. You may be in H4 with automatics, snipe, and dmr at a distance making it so you are almost not in H4 from a competitive standpoint (small maps). You will not be missed. <3

In memory of the 1-50 Truskill system

Although you were not perfect by any means and your users constantly abused you; you brought joy to many of us. Whether competitive, casual or somewhere in between, you gave us a purpose in Halo. A goal for us to strive towards. Although your time has passed, I shall never forget the long hours I stayed up until 3am with my mates, grinding team slayer matches just so I could get past that level 44 you so desperately kept me locked at. As we look forward towards the grim future of skill based ranking systems, we can only hope to find someone who can step into your shoes and give us a goal we can strive for once again. RIP

Oh SMG, how could we ever forget you? You carried us thru Halo 2, and Halo 3, and reiterated yourself with a silencer in Halo 3: ODST! You were among our favorites, loading hundreds of bullets into the soon-to-be corpses of our foes seemingly every second! Alas, I weep on your bloodied grave, and I shall never forget you, and neither shall the community!

In memory of the 1-50 skill System.

Oh the rage you have cause me and many others! NEver again Will we have to deal with derankers! Never again will I get messages of “50 For sale, Best offer!” In the words of my favorite psychotic soldier: “your dead, thats good, amen.”

In memory of the SMG

I got over it. The SMG is dead, All hail the Suppressor!

In memory of the Spectre.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-(you get the picture)

Firefight

Call me old, but I still miss the first feelings I had playing Halo CE back in the Christmas of 2001. I’ll never forget Pvt Jenkins’ helmet tape along with the first encounter of the flood. A truly atmospheric situation which I feel will be very hard to replicate. I want to be surprised and ultimately amazed with Halo 4’s campaign. I want to feel the way I did when I first met the flood, and not being able to predetermine events which I have been able to do so in the past.

In memory of the Needle Rifle,

You were truly a fantastic precision weapon. You were something unique, something special, and something Halo hadn’t seen before. Were as the Carbine felt like a -Yoink- BR sub, you came and changed the gameplay and design of precision weapons substantially. I’ll always miss ‘unicorning’ people (headshotting them with the weapon) and using its 3X super-combine explosion to kill my enemies. We were deprived of you far too soon.

If what we know is correct, our favorite parasites will be back in H5. If 343 can do it right they might be able to recreate the feeling the flood gave us back in Halo CE.

They don’t have to disappear… If they make a PC version you can have whatever weapons you damn well please.

R.I.P Hornet I’ll miss you old pal. Owning scarbs since 2007.
I guess I should give a moment in silence for your brother Falcon as well.

In memory of the Grenade Launcher…
The other skill power weapon. It may have lived in the shadows of other weapons, but was still loved by many. The sticky detonator looks fun…but it’s not the same…

In memory of Firefight…
Was a fun and challenging game mode in Halo 3:ODST. And creative minds could make unique gametypes for it in Halo:Reach. It had much potential for improvement in Halo 4.

Halo 4’s gameplay looks really great, but STOP REMOVING THINGS 343! You make your fans sad!

Somehow you all forgot he best one…

In memory of Sergent Johnson…
There will never be a BA like you and now the knowledge of what the ladies like is lost forever.

Seriously why did he have to die…

RIP Plasma Launcher.

While I mostly got vehicles with you, I always enjoyed the immense satisfaction of charging a single bolt and firing upon an unsuspecting victim and watching them jump and flail about until the explosion.

The GrifShot.

Dah amurrr lok OK NO,ITS WAS A SOOO -Yoinking!- BAD JOKE

In memory of the Plasma Rifle (Yes,1 of the most classic Halo weapons)
