I believe what is wrong with Halo, is the community. We are a huge group of unsatisfied gamers. Constantly looking for another proper Halo, we have sat back while halo released three below par games, and everything else took over. Now its time for us to be the forefront again. Hence the reason these forums are so busy with things like.‘Bring back the br’,‘Fix the grunts’,‘Bring back the 0-50 ranking system’ and finally ‘bring back the clan system.’
I think we definitely need a clan system.
In halo 2/3 the community was so friendly and united- compared to reach. In reach there is no communication or togetherness with fellow halo players.
A clan system would bring back the strength and number of close circles of x-box friends. We need to be able to compete competitively and casually with our friends and clans, against others.
This is definitely the way to progress with Halo.
Real life example: Today, my friend was telling me about his clan in Reach. He was talking about “training” in his clan, and all this other weird stuff like how people invaded during their training session and they had to fight them off, but eventually his clan just had them in an infinite spawn trap for like 2 hours, but they couldn’t boot them because it wouldn’t be honorable and they would look bad and I was like “lolwut, why can’t people just play the game”
No. This is his whole clan. Which, according to him, is the second or third biggest one in Reach. If it became more organized it would be even more commonplace in Matchmaking, meaning one, it would be really stupid and two, people who aren’t stupid would lose, a lot.
I don’t think clans have a place in console games- they normally just end up being groups of like-minded bullies that enjoy terrorizing the innocent in MM. My two cents.

I sure would love to see a clan system, or something like it, even for social gamers it would be nice to be able to “join up” with friends in MM. People has tried it by having similar nick and/or symbols, but it just ain’t enough.
Just curious, why would anyone be against the idea of a clan system? Even if you don’t belong to a clan, why wouldn’t you like it? It can’t affect anyone negatively, and it brings players closer together.
I support the clan system. Anyone remember in Halo 2 where clans used to battle each other? That was pretty fun, especially since you got a ranking in it. Instead of people beating their chests against randoms they proved their skill against other clans.
Some people are sad friendless ego-maniacs who don’t want to see clans. That isn’t a joke, you hear condescending remarks if you play as a clan with friends.
