Here is just a short list of the things that I think that should be put into a Halo 2 anniversary. Please feel free to add your own thoughts and ideas and then hopefuly 343 see this and listen.
- Halo 2 campaign kept UNTOUCHED
- Updated graphics
- All the MP maps
- The original Halo 2 MP (Not what you did with CEA where it borrowed Reaches MP)
- no armor abilities
That all I can think of. Any thing I missed?
maybe a menu where we can activate the founded skulls
ooh maybe a theater mode too. That would be great

Theater and scoring (impossible, but I would LOVE it)
Skulls menu (all difficulties except for IWHBYD)

Actually i want to contest your issue with the campaign being untouched. Id like to see 1 extra level where after chief is on the dreadnought and says “Finishing this fight”. I would like 1 extra level(or cutscene) where he fights a bit aboard the ship and when he gets to the point where hes free falls and slam into the earth in his suit in the beginning of Halo 3.
As for Multiplayer, Absolutely a double shot medal, a Quadshot medal and a BXR medal. (possibly a BXZ and a double sticky nade launch kill medal but not overly needing it)
Theater Mode, A spectator mode (Mainly for Competitive Halo leagues that stream)
I do like the way Halo 4 has wide range of allowed customization for your spartan appearance like helmet and color, Symbols etc. so throw that in there.
Flood gametypes (because in the zombies gametype you had to depend on player integrity to switch teams after they die and in some cases people didnt)
A hammer(dedicated for Griffball only) and Griffball map/gametype FOR THIS ONLY not on other gametypes or maps.
NEW MAPS/Remakes from sequel halo games.
BRING BACK CLANS
Keep it the same game just add those things IMO, if it aint broke dont fix it.
This may also be a cool extra. What if there was an extra where you where actually allowed to play the original Halo 2 E3 Demo? Whenever I would watch it, I’d always want to pick up my controller and acually play that demo. Of course, the demo should stay almost untouched. Keep the semi-auto BR and every other original part from the demo in the remake, but at least have a HUD maybe. Along with that, maybe if there was a bonus campaign with the original Halo 2 Storyline?
I want them to update the graphics, but I don’t want them to let us switch between Classic and Updated. Running on two engines wrecked online co-op for CEA, and I’d hate to have latency while playing Halo 2 with friends online.
They should keep the gameplay for SP and MP the same as the original (bring back all the old weapons with dual wielding capabilities) and just update the graphics. They should also add a forge mode and theatre mode.

I agree with everything but just one very small thing. In Halo 2 campaign on legendary co-op, if one of you died, it would auto-revert to the last checkpoint even without the Iron skull which is annoying if you’re playing with people of lesser skill or for some kind of personal co-op milestone. I think that should be removed but everything else NEEDS to stay the same or else a Halo 2 remake will be a failure if 343i doesn’t follow that guideline.

That idea has the potential to break the entire Halo canon as we know it. If you recall, Bungie planned for Halo 2 to finish the fight where John was to kill Truth while aboard the Dreadnaught. It wouldn’t work. The campaign has to stay completely the same in order for the Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 story to stay structered and canon. I didn’t include ODST there because that one extra level wouldn’t affect ODST’s story.

Nope. This was already covered in Halo: Uprising, and wouldn’t work very well in video game form. Plus it would still make for a horrible ending. All that happens is John fights his way through the Dreadnought, gets captured and interrogated, escapes, takes a few missed shots at Truth, and then fights his way to an airlock. The Key of Osanalan that the Brutes question the Chief about would need to be explained. The situation back on Earth should be explained. Too much exposition to fit into an unnecessary level that still wouldn’t fix Halo 2’s climax problems.
Plus, 343 Industries would probably be heavily criticized for attempting to design a level for Halo 2.

All of the rest of this would probably be way beyond the scope of this project, though I do agree with most of it. I think it could potentially be likely to wish for Campaign scoring (maybe not, considering 343 Industries forgot about it in Halo 4). As well, Forge and Theater could possibly be designed for Halo 2. That would certainly be glorious.
Adding armor permutations would likely require a reworking of animations to make it work, so I don’t think 343 Industries would touch that. New gametypes and remakes of newer maps would also likely be out of the question, but would be cool to see if it was possible.
