Things to make the next forge great...

Ok so I’m just bored out of my mind so I figured I would lay out some things that would make forge all around better.

Remember these aren’t supposed to look professional they are just for an example.

I love everything you just posted, but there are a few additions I’d like to make.

Time of Day: Dusk, Afternoon

Climate: Fog, Flood Air Spores, Covenant glassing ash, sandstorm

Object Textures(The ability to change an object’s physical properties): Wood, Ice, Glass, Covenant purple, forerunner metal, human metal, stone, grass, dirt, and anything else you can think of.

Vehicle customization: Paint jobs (all spartan armor colors for vehicles, camo, etc.), spinning rims (lol jk), if the elephant returns, which vehicles you can put in the elephant.

New areas: The surface of a moon, the entire area is Low-G as a default, but you can forge areas with normal gravity such as areas you want to consider “indoors”, or areas where gravity is simply stronger. Complete with forgeable vehicles including space banshee and “space falcon” (If exists).

Underwater parts of maps, you can forge areas that are also considered “indoors” and underwater so that people can fight in tunnels and see the ocean right outside, also if 343 decided to make a submarine type vehicle.

But I would like these things too

  • Ability to place water ( Would work like territiories where you create a zone and the water would be in the zone.

  • Destroyed Vehicles

  • Blood Stains

  • Furnature Couches, tables, etc. Would be great for infection maps and other maps.

  • Breakable Windows

  • Signs

  • Place small boxes of ammo ( like in past campaigns )

  • Better lights ( Not just floating balls ) I would like to see some lanterns and/or floodlights ( that acctualy light up rooms like in Halo 3 )

  • Placable flaggs. Red, blue, UNSC, Elite, etc.

These are all great suggestions, keep them coming boys.

The ability to let forgers take screenshots for the map’s file picture. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone into a community playlist and heard “Oh, I don’t think I’ve been on that map (Forge World Map), let’s check it out, spawns Oh not this map! I hate this map!”. So people can see more than just the base map on the voting screen or file browser. People seem to remember pictures and landscapes better than names.

I put that pic up in the OP. I have been saying this for a long long time. It’s just too frustrating voting for a map only for it to turn out to be THAT map… haha

Access to the webpage was denied. Your link isn’t working. I have loads of Nighttime and snowwy screenies. Even a weird grassy snowbound haha. I pretty much have an alt version for every Halo 3 map.

Having played with forge when it was first introduced (way back in the days of Marathon), I can say that the options of re-skinning the blocks would be amazing. I understand that prefab blocks might not work well with this option, but the standard X by X blocks should easily be compatable with this.

As well, being able to create custom sized blocks, similar to how we give objects a shape.

Merging shapes so that they can be moved together. A copy/paste option.

And better prefab structures. I suppose thats an unfair request, but I’ve found so many of the prefabs nearly useless.

More round edged pieces.

EDIT: the ability to create invisible barriers. kills zones seem really awkward on maps that need to have an open sky but can thus be easily escaped (though not having jetpacks in Halo 4 might make this unnecessary).

Yep it’s working now. I love the sky.

I need tips on how to make snowwy grounds in photoshop again. It’s been a while since I have done that.

I think the forge in halo 4 will be better than reach, but there won’t be to many major changes until halo 5, because of a new engine and console.
Though I like all these Ideas and would love to see them.

I kinda feel the same way. I just hope we at least get some decent geoforming and textures in the next forge map. Maybe the possibility to forge on every map. With say the main structures delectable on every default map.

But I can’t help to wonder how much time all the programming would take

Altough I don’t really know how to make games

If not pelicans you can fly atleast pelicans you can place on the map and spawn out of.
ODST pods you could drop in with would make for some cool invasion gameplay.
The ability to take a bunch of pieces you have put together and save them so you don’t have to keep remaking them everytime you want them in your map. No limit on who many pieces can be in your map.

I’ve always wanted the ability to snap objects together. It would save a lot of time instead of using edit coordinates.
