I really like how Throwdown plays. It’s a ton of fun. Here are two things that I would like to see changed:
- Team throwdown is split up into slayer and objective gametypes.
I like KOTH, CTF, and the other objectives, but only in a limited amount. Since Halo 2 I have primarily played slayer, because it’s my favorite gametype, so I would like to see a separate playlist that is slayer only.
- Backing out while voting is turned off.
I think this should be handled like it was in Halo 2 and 3, where you can’t back out once map voting starts. This would cut down on a lot of quitting because it would count as a DNF in your stats and result in a potential quit ban.
What do you guys think? In my opinion these changes would make the playlist even better.
I haven’t had time to play throwdown yet, but quitting during the voting thing pissed me off in team doubles so I can imagine how frustrating it would be in this playlist. People just need to suck it up and play the map even if it isn’t one that they’re great at.
Hey buddy, you should post your ideas in the Team Throwdown Feedback Thread.
That is the best place to have your ideas heard
I mentioned Oddball in another forum about throwdown. One of the matchmaking people commented saying that they would add more gametypes to the playlist at some point which I guess would mean just like how we got the throwdown if enough people ask or comment about it they’ll add it. Personally the new passing dynamic I think makes it alot more fun and could add to the playlist. CTF in my opinion is alot of fun although, it would be nice if flag juggling back in but I understand if they can’t with this game.
Visible In Game Rank would fix all of the problems:
-
People who care about their rank would not quit out before the match even starts and wouldn’t quit out once they start losing by a small margin like they do now. Sure at the low ranks they still quit, but who cares, plebs will be plebs, once you rank up you don’t have to deal with it.
-
People will use their mic’s and communicate (thus playing with randoms not being so horrid) because they care about their rank. This will also help reduce quitting.
-
Matches will be created fairly. When you have a team of 4 ranging from say 32-36 on each team, then you know when you get matched up with another team of that skill range that you will be getting a fair match. It really gets old stomping morons because trueskill doesn’t work and it certainly not fun to get stomped on yourself. VIGR fixes that problem
It needs to be visible in the game or nobody will care. It also needs to be solely based on Wins and Losses, otherwise people will just play selfishly and stat -Yoink!- like in Reach’s failure, Arena.
Don’t believe me? Watch how fast and pitifully 343’s pretend waypoint ranking fails.
Please continue the discussion in the offical feedback thread.
