Things that suck in Halo 5

I’m disappointed with a lot of things in Halo 5. It’s not a horrible game but there are a lot of things that I hate about it. Some more than others.

First of all, while the campaign’s story line was very interesting, I didn’t really have much fun playing it. I’m not gonna be replaying the campaign anywhere near as much as I have with the other Halos. There didn’t need to be spartan teams, just so that in co op play, each person had a character that didn’t disappear in cutscenes. I liked the feeling of Isolation you had at times in the other campaigns, but also enjoyed fighting alongside the marines, (who i always found quite entertaining,) when the game called for it. In Halo 5 I have a bunch of boring spartans who I don’t care about yelling at me to keep moving and failing to provide any proper help in combat situations. And the new revive system often just means I have to wait for my teammates to fail to save me before i can keep playing. I have had multiple times where a teammate is standing right next to me and doesn’t revive me. The campaign just felt really lackluster overall.

In multiplayer, there isn’t much of a variety of gamemodes. An Infection or Action sack playlist would have been nice. But hopefully they can add those in later. As well as some more maps, because in my opinion almost none of the arena maps are unique or memorable, and there aren’t enough big maps.

Warzone has many issues too. First of all, the credit to defeating the AI bosses shouldn’t go to the last team to damage the boss, it should go to the team who does the most damage. My team will be destroying a boss and doing all the work, only for an enemy to arrive, shoot him once in the foot and get the points for the kill. I have had this happen SO many times and it’s so frustrating.

Also, the REQ system adds absolutely nothing to the gameplay. If anything it makes it worse. One team might have a bunch of players who get lucky and get loads of tanks and good power weapons in their REQ cards. While the other team might be full of players who get nothing but needlers and mongooses. So basically, whichever team has the advantage in terms of weapons and vehicles, is completely random. Why couldn’t they just have it so that weapons and vehicles spawn throughout the map? And are we never going to have Big Team Battle back with gamemodes like Assault and Capture the Flag?

Also, getting into the lesser problems now, but I liked needing to accomplish a specific thing or reach a certain rank to be awarded a new customization option in the other Halos. Now it’s just a matter of whether or not I get lucky and get something in a REQ pack. And the new emblem system is just stupid. Why would they take away full control of creating your emblem, and make it so you only start of with about 12, and have to randomly unlock the rest? And you only get a set emblem, with a set backround, and only get to choose out of a set of colour combinations. Its just stupid. And i still think 343’s amour design is horrible compared to Halo 3 and Reach.

Finally, I would like it if they could add playable Elites into the game in the near future. There are some aspects of Halo 5 I do like, but also so much I don’t like that takes away from the experience. It’s not a downright horrible game, but I feel like it could have been so much better.

I definitely agree on the REQ system point. I hate the fact that I need cards for low-class vehicles & weapons, armor sets, and emblems. The warthog & mongoose should be available to all at level 1 requisitions and heavy vehicles restricted to being used only once in a match. Heavy weapons should be exclusive to the cards and the DMR, Battle Rifle, & SMG should be available at the start. The armor shouldn’t be apart of the REQ system, with exceptions to skin variants.

About the campaign, I understand that you believe it to be rather boring/tedious. But simply hating the fact that it’s changed from playing as the Chief solo to having a team of Spartans be it Blue or Osiris is a little ridiculous. Reach was one of the most popular games and I’m sure the Reach AI was far worse than Guardians. I do think you have a point on the respawning though. If you die, you should be able to choose to end the current life and respawn rather than waiting for a revive.
As for the multiplayer a lot of the things your missing are most likely going to be brought in, but slowly. Be patient.
Warzone is a combination of firefight and multiplayer with MOBA-esque aspects. In MOBAs the bosses are allowed to be stolen, but not for actual points rather for somekind of boost or purchase points. This would mean giving them something like speed boost as well as extra REQ points, which seems to me to be a better idea.
And now about the armor, it’s simply cosmetic. I honestly like it because it’s more detailed. And we’re talking about Spartan-IVs wearing this armor, they’re the types that want to be “flashy” and “cool.”
