This is a comprehensive list of just basic things that are strongly recommeneded to be added into the Halo 5 game experience for it to be successful. This is going to be mainly a reflection of things Halo 4 lacked compared to other Halo games.
-
Standard Infection gametype along with the Halo 4 Flood gametype. I’m talking Halo 3/Reach style Infection. Also the gametypes need to offer the same level of customization that Halo 3/Reach offered, such as the ability to modify player colors for an any player in the game in the settings menu.
-
You need to be able to zoom in when you are in editing mode on Forge. On Halo 4 you can’t even zoom in in editing mode.
-
Start from scratch with the Forge system. Halo 4’s Forge seems a bit much just like a reproduction of Reach’s forge system, with a few extra models and different color scheme. Would be nice to see more fresh models and materials available for all maps along with the basic ones.
-
Keep the models true to what they always have been. If you plan to do an ODST variant, keep it looking like actual ODST armor permuations from Halo 3 or Reach, as Halo 4’s ODST armor was pretty different from the classic look players enjoy. For example, you did very well with the Mark V armor and kept it true to the classic game, with slight adjustments of course.
-
In editing mode, change it back to team colors for spawnpoint options like in Reach, not just numbers like it was in Halo 3. With team colors it’s just easier for players to get their work done without the confusion of mistaken teams.
I completely understand that developers look towards next gen and completely new things, but as an older player starting off from Halo CE, I would like to see some more references to past Halo games.
Things that would be nice to see:
-
The battle rife, with the classic black finish and the classic blue scope. Add in two models for the battle rifle with different weapon performances. This would strongly courage classic custom gametypes and draw in players. Primarily the battle rifle has been the most altered cosmetically of all the weapons. I also understand the new look for it, as time in the storyline has passed.
-
Less of a massive lunge distance for Flood gametypes.
-
Bungie in Halo 3 used to host a file section called Bungie Favorites. This is a small selection of screenshots, films, gametypes and maps that staff have personally recommended to the community. Would be great to see that again.
Of course these are all my personal opinions, and everybody has their different outlook of what should be in the next Halo game. Feel free to add your own opinions as well that would improve the next game.
Overall the purpose of this thread is to say that I, and others, would like to see some additional good old fashioned things from Halo incorporated in the next gen game, that Halo 4 lacked.
Pictures of the staff in their underwear.

> There is pretty much no difference between the two modes. All they need to do is add a set of ‘Infected’ models for every weapon so customs aren’t restricted to the sword, and possibly custom colours. Two nearly identical gamemodes is pointless.

> H2A forge has been said to have expanded natural palettes, as well as a few new gadgets and such. H4 Forge did add some very good stuff, like the Green screen, magnets, duplication and such.

> They’ve already released a H5 BR render. http://powerleveled.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/halo5br.png As you can see, black is back, but the scope’s been redone, and it still looks like the H4 variant. I think two BRs would be a bit excessive. If they do nearly the same thing, what’s the point?

A separation of ranked and social playlists.
Quitting bans in competitive playlists join in progress on social.
The Revenant.
Some sort of limited loadout system for custom games and social gametypes.
Ranked Playlists
Descope
Spectator Mode
No Sprint
Good Maps
I miss big team battle most of all, and also the Assault game-type.

BTB never left… And Grifball can be modified into a decent Assault mode.
