ok so to start…i love the work and effort thats being put into MCC and halo 5…thing is halo 5 needs a slightly different approach…and im really sad knowing this will never happen but this is what halo 5 needs
Get rid of sprint: instead have that sripnt speed be default speed no need to click a button when spartans are super soliders
Make the left stick crouch just like in all halos
I can forgive smart scope it makes sense…the helment emulates the scope being used…but make it the right stick…click to zoom
Get rid of the thruster pack and put in a dive and roll instead…that will make you feel even more of a spartan than anything else…put this on the left bumper
Get rid of ground pound and instead put wall run to takedown and make the takedowns and assanations just like the ones in halo reach…press A to jump…when near a wall press the dive and roll button to wall run then press A to jump off and when lined up with an enemy press the meele button for a takedown…this will add very techincal and crucial button presses
Leave the left trigger for grenades
Right bumper for melee
And for the love of everything pleaae change the announcers voice please please please please please…i love halo and will still buy halo 5 but these changes are needed
Other than that clamber, running takedown, and slide to cover are fine

They at least acknowledged that a lot of people don’t like it, but they’re smart in using a beta to test out the new tweaks they made to sprint. Who knows, they might get rid of it if they get enough feedback. It seems to me that they’re trying to give sprint at least one more chance to succeed.
A ridiculously high default move speed and more unnecessary animations sounds worse, actually. The wall run sounds clunky and the takedown easier to abuse than ground pound.

I honestly don’t think, given Halo’s already copious amounts of aim assist in general, that sprint speed as default would be all that extreme.
After all, I’m pretty sure Speed Boost in Halo 4 IS Sprint Speed.
I don’t like his takedown idea but I don’t see how it would be any easier.

I would imagine base speed would be halfway inbetween sprint and movement speed, which really isn’t that bad. Agree with your other statment though.
well my idea is for those takedowns to have the same effct as the ground pound…it leaves you vulnerable…nothing that could be spammed…or else the ground pound was not really needed anyways and as for the sprint it doesnt have to be insane to be more specific it should be faster than the halo 2 speed but slower than the sprint…and another reason why the thruster isnt needed is because its just not the core of what a spartan is…i read the books and the training the went through it feels like they should be more agile and be able to do insane things to take a person down than just being “fast”…i have even seen a part where they do wall run…even though i like it regaurdless it could feel more spartan like instead of the suit making it feel spartan like

If we’re talking about dive and roll as in Evade, I somewhat disagree. Thruster Pack is fine, but what has always bothered me about it is that it doesn’t conserve momentum. When the thrust ends, the player is forced back to normal speed. The conservation of momentum that Evade had allowed some creative maneuvers with map geometry. For instance, evading against a properly inclined wall would throw you upwards.
That’s not to say that I believe Thruster Pack should be scrapped. Thruster Pack definitely has some equally useful capabilities. I suppose that the best idea would be to combine them with the capabilities of Evade by allowing Thruster Pack to conserve momentum. Also, getting rid of the third person perspective wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
