Modes: KotH, Oddball, Juggernaut, Extraction, Regicide.
Maps: Non-remix DLC maps (only 1, Torque).
Playlists: Permanent social playlists for Arena/Slayer (5v5).
BTB: Real maps that aren’t forged.
Vehicles: Hornet/Falcon, Promethean ground vehicles (team-based and solo).
Ranks: Permanent ranks that don’t get erased every few months.
All of this would make the game better, feel free to add anything.

More modes would be great and at least some should be added in the near future, the same with maps, the hornet/falcon would be amazing but not essential and i disagree with the ranks

I’d be fine with the ranks if your highest rank would remain on your profile once a season ends, that way even though ranks would reset, you’d still have your main rank. And this would be a permanent rank that would never reset unless you get a higher rank that can top it.
It depends on what you expect in a Halo game. Do you expect every Halo installment to essentially be every previous Halo game rolled into one, like some sort of Halo Turducken or some Frankenstein’s Monster of a Halo game? Then yeah, there’s a lot missing. But like folding a piece of paper in half over and over again, you can only do that so many times before doubling, tripling, quadrupling the work load every three years becomes unreasonable. Halo 5 is already larger than the MCC and by the time we get Firefight it will be bigger than the MCC + Reach + Halo Wars combined.
I’d prefer each title to be its own game with a handful of experiences from previous installments, sure (namely Slayer with most of the classic modes, which they should have done with Halo 5), but a focus on new modes as well. I may not be the biggest fan of Warzone, but I like that it took precedence, and it is by far the most popular mode. But it is just flat out unreasonable to expect, say, Halo 6 to be CE + H2 + H3 + ODST + Reach + H4 + H5 + H6 with new stuff as well and to say that if it’s missing one game mode at launch it’s an unfinished product not worth the same $60 we spent on just Combat Evolved alone. This is the only franchise I can think of where the fanbase expects the sequels to basically contain every aspect of the previous installments within them. And that’s coming from someone who does think Halo 5 was a little light on content at launch.

I see what you’re saying but the stuff I mentioned is just essential content that should’ve been in the game.
Comparison to Halo 3:
Modes: Had all of the essential Halo modes.
Maps: Not remixes.
Playlists: Had social playlists for Arena.
BTB: Had real BTB maps.
Vehicles: Had brute ground vehicles (team and solo), and a Hornet. (Perhaps the Hornet’s excused because of the Phaeton).
Ranks: Had permanent ranks.

Actually, Torque got a remix in MoR. But Oddball is in the game, although it has no official mode. You have to make it using Assault and you can only play it in customs.

Yeah that’s true, I just meant Torque’s the only original non-remix DLC map released in 7 months. The rest are remixes, even a remix for the Torque DLC map (Stasis). And if they aren’t releasing actual Oddball (with a skull) because of Assault custom game settings, I’m gonna get mad. You cant treat a classic Halo mode like that.
Why do people care that a map is forged or not? For the most part, the maps on this game are awesome. The work that went into the best of the forge maps is no less than the work that goes into a dev map. Folks on this board are way too picky. You all are getting free content for an awesome game. Shut up and have fun.

Real maps are way more fun to play on because they feel more professional and real, given the fact that they’re professionally made. I don’t really think free content justifies how the game doesn’t have essential content like basic Halo modes either. That should’ve been in the game in the first place. They made tons of money off of REQs and instead of using that money to fund better, more content filled DLC, they give their 1 million+ dollars to a kid who won a Halo tournament.
I don’t see why remixes don’t count as maps. They all play very differently from their originals. The only thing up there I agree with you on is KOTH and oddball.
Personally I wish big team was ranked like when it launched. But I’ve come to terms with the fact that this will never happen

I’m fine with the seasons format. Although the MM needs to be fixed so that your previous ranks don’t get taken into consideration when the new season starts. Just cause I ranked Onyx one season and Diamond a few season in a row doesn’t mean I’m in league with CHAMPION level players. That why I gave up on SWAT.
I do want those modes to be brought back. They made multi team so fun instead of just slayer(Side note: Make Multi Team 4 teams of 2 instead of 3!)
Why they don’t divide the playlists like Halo 3 is beyond me. Yeah I get you don’t want to just copy what Bungie did but, they had a system that worked and people loved it so why not use it?
BTB maps are a big issue. They’re all remakes or forge creations which make them seem unnatural and bland and they don’t flow that well. Plus they’re not very big either.
