things in reach i would like to see in halo 4

Fall damage and a health system is the biggest thing i think should stay(or be brought back depending on how you look at things, considering CE was the only halo before reach with this system), i was so happy that they brought these features back, having fall damage is great, now people can’t get their shields shot off and then run away by jumping from a insane height and be perfectly fine, fall damage brings back the skill of having to time your crouch before you hit the ground to cushion your landing

having the health system back(health that you can actually see) actually encourages players to move around the map more in order to replenish there health to full bars. If you fight someone and get them to low health and you die, that person is more motivated to get a health pack rather than trying to find out where that person respawns in order to get another kill.

voting for the maps rather than veto is a much better system, players get a better chance to play what they want rather than being stuck with a game type or map that players might not prefer as much as the latter

best over all gun should remain a single shot precision weapon, i felt that the DMR(don’t think of bloom) better represents halo as to how the game should work when it comes to the “best all around gun” firefights, i feel players miss more with a single shot gun than they do with the BR, because between burst you can actually fix your aim better before the next shot, that’s why I felt that a lot of times with the BR if a person has one-two bursts into you before you get a chance to shoot back, it gives them a huge advantage because both players can only shoot the gun at its set pace, rather than being able to fire quicker independent shots

single wield guns, Halo is known for having fast paced grenades with a deadly melee at close quarters combat, dual wielding kind of defeats this purpose i find

thoughts?

side note: i think they should make the plasma grenade fuse time a little longer and damage a bit weaker, throwing a PG should not kill a full health and shielded spartan just because they were close to it and not stuck by it, does this not defeat the purpose of actually rewarding players who stick someone, rather than throwing the grenade at a wall and getting an easy kill because someone walked over it?

Wow, i actually disagree in everything you said. I dont want fall damage, i i dont want the Halo:CE/Reach health system(Fall damage is just plain annoying and removes lots of skill by decreasing the effectiveness of attacking from above and people will therefore always fight on a straight line), and (Halo 1 and Halo reach health system slows down gameplay too much). I want Halo 2 or Halo 3 regenerating health system. I also want veto, not vote … (You want to play the same map over and over again, rocket race, infection, and so on get voted for everytime?) I want a burst precision weapon and i want a weak short fuse timed grenade.

wow how is not having fall damage more skill full? being able to jump from a tall height and timing your crouch to cushion how much impact you take is a great skill to have to know and increases the learning curve for new players, if you shooting someone from above you already have an advantage of being above them, what does fall damage have to do with that? you would rather drop down and chase them and lose your good spot on the map? if you can’t kill the person with the height advantage than i think you have other problems… also halo 2 and 3 had no visual health system but it was apparently there? so how do you know if your weak or not, or if just one single grenade with your full shield is going to kill you? also i don’t get your point on plasma grenades? weaker but with a shorter fuse??

also reach’s health system is way different than how health worked in CE

This guy has the right idea.

I only ever use health packs if I happen to see them, I never seek them out. Plus fall damage has no place in Halo.

you only started playing halo, when halo 2 came out didn’t you? and if you did LAN halo CE, big whoop, halo CE was playable online through XBC, halo CE LAN’s were a joke to me because i was the only one with online experience making me 10x better than anyone else there

Health packs don’t encourage me to move around the map. They make me camp at my base until one respawns, and I’m not going to try and keep map control if I lose unrechargable health. I’m going to give up vital territory just because I’m at a disadvantage.

> wow how is not having fall damage more skill full? being able to jump from a tall height and timing your crouch to cushion how much impact you take is a great skill to have to know and increases the learning curve for new players, if you shooting someone from above you already have an advantage of being above them, what does fall damage have to do with that? you would rather drop down and chase them and lose your good spot on the map? if you can’t kill the person with the height advantage than i think you have other problems… also halo 2 and 3 had no visual health system but it was apparently there? so how do you know if your weak or not, or if just one single grenade with your full shield is going to kill you? also i don’t get your point on plasma grenades? weaker but with a shorter fuse??

The crouch isn’t even a challenge to time, it just slows you down.
Everyone chases after an opponent, jumps down from the good spot if that is what it takes to get the kill, and you know it. I am 48 MLG, with every other skill 50 and i do it! In halo 3 there was only shield? When you got 0 shielded, you would die instant with a headshot. Think of halo 3’s as your health that regenerates, but apperantly it is called shield.

> side note: i think they should make the plasma grenade fuse time a little longer and damage a bit weaker, throwing a PG should not kill a full health and shielded spartan just because they were close to it and not stuck by it, does this not defeat the purpose of actually rewarding players who stick someone, rather than throwing the grenade at a wall and getting an easy kill because someone walked over it?

Why would plasma grenades be changed when their formula has always been so fundamental to Halo?
Your opinions hinder Halo 4, not help it.

CE had fall damage and CE is the reason why halo 2 had so many pre-orders, so don’t just come in here and say fall damage has no place in halo, and that’s good you don’t grab health, it just makes it easier for me to kill you if i happen to miss your head

I honestly disagree with every single bit of that, except for the single-shot weapon, in which I don’t really mind either way.

> > side note: i think they should make the plasma grenade fuse time a little longer and damage a bit weaker, throwing a PG should not kill a full health and shielded spartan just because they were close to it and not stuck by it, does this not defeat the purpose of actually rewarding players who stick someone, rather than throwing the grenade at a wall and getting an easy kill because someone walked over it?

again in CE to get a kill with them you had to stick the person if your not shooting them, there’s no reward to this throw it at a wall and have someone walk over it system

no its not hard once you learn it, but new players would not know this, giving the more experienced player a little advantage, yes i get that you chase your prey, but if you have height advantage then shouldn’t the other person have the advantage of there opponent slowing down when they jump down to chase them? yes i get that having no shielded is a one shot kill to the head, but the problem i have is that there is visual health gauge, so how do you know if your fully health again or are still regenerating from the previous battle?

^This. Especially the weak short fuse timed grenade part. Grenades in Reach are way, and I mean WAY too overpowered. They take a while to detonate. If they’re going to be that overpowered, then we should spawn with only 1 grenade each. I also do not seek health packs nor agree with fall damage. It’s actually annoying to try and jump down to one place and then die because someone decided to shoot you once. Fall damage sucks. Up with automatic regeneration.

To chrouch while hitting the ground is something you can learn within your 10 first games of halo. Also, if there is ranked in halo 4, i would be playing ranked and ranked only. I would never meet these beginners and no one would actually get anything from this crouch, because everyone knows it at my level, it would just be annoying and slow us down. If the enemy is that stupid giving me the height advantage (Or top control) they actually deserve to die and lose, not to be able to escape from me because of some bad game mechanics. If your shield is all restored your full health?

Lol you have no idea what your talking about. CE’s campaign is the main reason everyone fell in love with Halo ; Fall damage doesn’t matter as much there. However when incorporated into matchmaking fall damage is an annoying feature and so should be removed. Why do you think Bungie removed it in Halo 2 in the first place? -.-

that’s exactly why you crouch before you hit the ground this is my whole point, but your sad you got hit once and then fell to your death, that’s your own fault for not developing the skill of crouch landing, its just like the skill of knowing to crouch when you jump to just be able to clear that ledge

I deserve to die and lose because I spawned on the bottom floor, and “gave” you top control. You’re just the pinnacle of intelligence, aren’t you?

I don’t want anything from Reach except for Assassinations, maybe.

hahahha ya i have no idea what im talking about? because everyone knows its the campaign that made halo and not the multiplayer… annoyed because you fell to your death because you can’t time a crouch makes you guys sound like noobs, all i want is more skill to be brought back to halo, not the atrocity that was halo 2, where every single aspect of halo MP changed besides the fact your a spartan with a shield, intense auto aim and bullet magnetism is too much skill for me to handle…

> I don’t want anything from Reach except for Assassinations, maybe.

You don’t want any of the guns/spartans?!
Halo will surely be different now :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
