Things 343i could have monetized (that actually would be interesting enough to potentially spend money on)

  • Intro animations
  • Special Assassinations
  • Fully designed and animated AI (on the level of the Weapon), with unique voice lines
  • Weapon remodels and sound modifiers (Brute Shot for the Hydra, for example; classic sniper rifle, sound included; silencer altering sfx of attached weapon)
  • Armor effects, kill effects, kit effects
  • animated visors (heartbeat), armor pieces (gears?), and coatings (flames)
  • companions (monitor, sentinel, anything as long as it doesn’t alter combat)
  • I hate even suggesting this but Forge pallettes (covenant, banished, etc)
  • special visual fx for equipment, bullets/gunfire
  • weapon cores with customization unlock trees/sequences (buy the Stalker core to get all of the customizations, but you have to unlock them all)
  • additional unlock sequences/trees for things we already own (mini battle passes)

Most unlocks should be in the BP of course, or even better, specialized challenges like in 3 and commendation challenges like in 4. The current system of time-locked and store-locked unlocks makes the game draining to play, and the fact that we have to purchase armor we’ve unlocked multiple times (outside of “purchasing the game”, which is what the campaign and battle pass together should cover in entirety) is downright insulting.

I miss commendation challenges. And the carbine.
And assassinations. And firefight. And Infection. And Swat.

Yeah these would be really interesting and I wouldn’t mind spending some cash on them.

I was thinking the same thing about Intro Animations (would be great to have animations tailored to my spartan instead of having them boxing the air) and the weapon remodel. When I saw that “wrap” for the Assault Rifle that was just a slightly longer barrel, I was like “This is legendary? Does it change the sound of the weapon? Why would this be legendary?”

Me too, brother. Me too.

I had the exact same thought. I even almost bought it. But I’m not paying for anything except the BP until the store prices are sane.

I, like many others, will probably drop this game after finishing the campaign. It’s really unfortunate because I really wanted to love this game but I just can’t support it, morally or financially, when it is so overtly

  • trying to force me to play constantly
  • trying to squeeze every last dime out of the fanbase
  • unfinished
  • forcing me to play games I have never wanted to play in the history of Halo

It’s exhausting.

First of all, the game is in beta (and free, aside from campaign ofc).

Second, it is not “forcing” you to play. You’re not required in any capacity to unlock every cosmetic (that you’ll never use.)

Finally, sounds like you just don’t like Halo. The campaign makes plenty of sense on its own without playing previous games.

On my first point though, I’m sure a lot more content and customization options will be added over time. Fairly certain it’s been confirmed anyway. Not that MW2019 is the shining example of multi-player games, but they added A LOT more over time and there’s no reason Halo Infinite won’t go the same way.

And King of the Hill. And Juggernaut. And Shotty Snipers. And Race. And…

Excuse me - what…?

Its technically out of beta since campaign release.

and technically one half of the game.

It is though, if not then is a start up build or go fund me build.

I’m not going to bite. I’m not going to bite. I’m not going to bite

I thought you were joking here but judging by your comment on the other thread - I think you might be serious?!

It’s not a beta - the beta ended over 2 weeks ago (and absolutely nothing changed)

A start up or go fund me build has absolutely nothing to do with anything about being a beta or not. It was a beta but it is not now

Yeah instead of monetizing optional cosmetics lets monetize important aspects to the game… Cringe.

The backlash they are receiving just highlights why it was important to monetize… Because they actually make money doing this. If they monetized something that was worthless nobody would talk about it because they wouldn’t care.

What post did you two read

That’s what I’m saying… this post seemed like just nice suggestions of things that OP would actually purchase and I would agree with most (except forge assets). I agree that optional cosmetics should be exactly that optional cosmetics, not cut content from past halo games sold back to me. If you want optional money aside from the “reach” battle pass I already bought, how about don’t sell me back reach armor on the side.

Anyways the typical free to play trolls come in here attacking op, always gotta ruin a good thread

While I don’t love the forge suggestion, it is something that makes sense to monetize - they’ll have some baseline aesthetic for everything, but if they recreate all of the forge objects in a new theme, that’s an expensive endeavor that will probably need us to pay for
