Thicker vs Upgraded vs Extra vs Heavy Armor

What is the difference? I see it says different armor for certain vehicles but I wonder, what is the difference? All I can guess is since Heavy Armor is on the most advance vehicle it, that must mean Heavy Armor must be the best at taking more damage but the rest aren’t in order so I don’t know which is better if you were to order them. What do you think?

I think it was a way to lazily expand the req system

there’s only 3. Normal, slightly buffed and ONI (regarding UNSC vehicles)

lets to take the hog as an example, it’s got the normal warthog, the painted camo or urban hogs, then the ONI. There’s no difference in all those camo hogs besides color.

The armour does make them more powerful, I had a ONI tank and it took a standard tank around 4/5 shoot just to start the fire from coming outta the tank so the armour does mean something

oh so thicker, upgraded n extra armor are all the same than. too bad no way to test it.

Normal warthog - then corporation warthog (better armour than normal) - then woodland, urban and tundra (same armour) - then ONI (better weapons and armour generally)

they should really either have stats or just keep names same if there is no difference.

They do say so in the description, though.

Most of these variants say that they have upgraded armor, though I’m unsure if there’s any variation between how much armor is in the midrange hogs (Woodland, Urban, and Tundra)

The ONI Hog specifically states that it has better guns, though IIRC, it doesn’t mention the fact that it never cools down.

I wish they gave more details on how much better the armor is for corp vs camo vs oni, how much more damage the kinetic rounds do, how much the Damage power ups boost damage, etc.

I believe they are all synonymous.
343i just using different words to describe the same upgrade.

nope, if you read the descriptions they use different words. the only constant 1 is Heavy and thats for the top ranked vehicle so like ONI hog, tanks, Ultra Ghost etc. the rest use words like thicker, upgraded, and extra armor if you read the descriptions.

And ya they really should mention the oni hog has no overheat. which is nice btw.

Exactly

the final highest vehicle, that uses the word “Heavy” armor is way tougher than any of the others of its kind.
