I just watched a Video and it looks like Halo 4 will have a failed plot. To me the game was never just about the online play, it was always about the plot.
They are killing the mystery behind master chief. I loved Halo but I think they have taken too many wrong turns and can’t seem to stop.

What mystery about him? Play the first few games and read the books. There is hardly any mystery on him. Also you seriously posting a video that was made back in August? Anyway I’m glad they’re going even more in depth with him in Halo 4.
Chief’s only mysteries are his exact appearance as an adult (just “vague” descriptions of his face) and how the hell he uses a toilet with that MJOLNIR suit.
The rest is pretty much explained and laid out in the books and games already. Nothing really new there.
I don’t mind 343i going a bit deeper into his psyche this time. Expand on his relationship (not neccecarily romantic!) with Cortana, with his “all alone, and the last one of my kind left” situation.
Don’t overdo it, but some more emotion or some personal goals are sure welcome to his character.

This.
I don’t want them to overdo it, one of Masterchief’s preferred virtues is that he somewhat alone in the universe and the human race, not only physically distanced but his distorted history and origin/purpose.
However, like you said. If Halo 4 is looking to delve into a more emotional side to Chief and the game as an experience, angles like this are an ideal opportunity to do so.

That sounds cool but I don’t think the plot should be based around that.

It has been stated a few times that “Halo 4 will focus around the relationship between Masterchief and Cortana”.
This does mean it will play a large role in the game, but it will consist more of a ‘Theme’ rather than a ‘plot’.
The plot will be Chief and whatever the Forerunner planet holds in store.
The theme will be Chief and Cortana’s relationship.
> If you have played, CE, 2, and 3 you would want to know more about him.
This is certainly not true. I’ve played all the Halo games and I wholeheartedly agree with what WxDayDreamxW has written. There is one simple fact that 343 haven’t seemed to realise: Master Chief is not the protagonist of the Halo series. He may indeed be the character we are most familiar with, but the story of Halo is not his story; it is the story of the Flood and the effect that that life form has on the other denizens of the galaxy, be they human, Covenant, or Forerunner.
From the sounds of it, 343 Industries are attempting to manufacture a backstory for the Chief that will disrupt his usefulness as a vessel through whose eyes the player experiences the Halo universe. And I should point out that delving into the Chief’s background in the books (which are optional supplements to the primary medium of the franchise) is not the same thing as exploring that background in the games themselves.
I haven’t read a truer sentence than this in a while:
> I loved Halo but I think they have taken too many wrong turns and can’t seem to stop.
343 have modified humanity’s origins, the Forerunners’ supposed primacy in the galaxy, the extra-galactic origin of the Flood, the number of Halo installations, the fate of the Didact and the Librarian, and the origin of Guilty Spark, to name a few contentious points. The Halo lore in 2012 is nigh unrecognisable in comparison to any previous iteration of the franchise, and, as WxDayDreamxW said, 343 Industries “can’t seem to stop”.

That’s great. Until you realize that a lot of other people actually do care about the Chief as a character and may have different opinions on what Halo’s story is all about from yours. It seems you can’t help but flaunt your disliking of 343i in almost every thread you’re in, but at the same time you’ve got problems with people saying that they disliked Reach, regardless of if it’s necessary or not.

I couldn’t have put it better if I tried. Thank you Syllipsis for such an enlightened prospective.
> stupid… what mistery about the chief ? if you read the books you will surely know the most facts that will come in Halo 4.

Some people don’t seem to consider the books as real canon, for some reason.
