Earlier today I was playing a game of Halo 4 SWAT and had a pretty decent game. I ended up, like, 22-9 or something like that. After the match finished though I got spammed a party invite by someone on the other team. I joined and was immediately greeted by two guys yelling at me because I “cheated”. I checked the post-game and one of them went 2-17. I told them that I wasn’t, and that they were more than welcome to join me but they just reported and blocked me. It was awesome. Reminded me of 2008. I loved it.
Ah, man. I miss those days. Getting a message after a match, being called every name under the sun, all because you played better than them. Good times.
Haha that’s a pretty good story but i don’t think it would be a topic, i’ve been reported for cheating too in Halo 5.
In warzone i used to enter to the enemy core and kill some marines for my company, not for killing people, but they don’t understand that, they just see an enemy there and kill you without even asking himsefls: how do he get there? At the end of the match people of both sides report me, the enemy report me for cheating and the allies for don’t do nothing but kill marines, but at the end of the day there will always be someone to report you, that’s the magic of multiplayer.
Anyway the Report sistem on xbox doesn’t really get to the moderators or something like that, it’s just a system of how the xbox comunity see you, you can see for what you have been reported in the last 6 months here.

There’s a guy I’ve run into playing CE who thinks someone is cheating every single time I play with him. Redacted or something? Haha all game you just see “x gamertag reported” in text chat.
One time I messaged him asking how they were cheating and he said that they couldn’t be hit but it was obviously either he was missing or a connection issue.
I get this a lot, I enjoy it. To play so well, that others think you’re cheating, it’s a nice compliment.
I laugh when I get the opposite messages. I’m a decent player with a positive KD, but when I’m off…I’m REALLY off. Like 5-15 off. I have no choice but the chuckle when I get the “You suck. Get off Halo. KYS” message. I typically just respond with “Have a good day!” and keep it moving.
LOL… I had the opposite kinda happen. In a game of FFA reach, I got a message asking “why does every one wearing the haunted helmet suck at Halo?” Well I recognized his gamertag and he usually plays really good Halo. That game he got to 25 and second had like 8 or 9. So he had a great game, which happens in FFA. I have been in those shoes (although not to often). So I was like are you really trying to brag about being good in reach (along with a pun but won’t post it here). He was like “not at all”… But I let it die. I havent been playing good Halo lately mainly because I search all titles and all games except swat so I constantly hit wrong buttons (reloading when I should melee and melee when I should reload… LOL). Also it doesn’t help that I found the best drink concoction ever… coconut red bull and carmel vodka (add a touch of creme de cacao to make it extra awesome).
BTW just wanted to point out some where that I have grinded out the xp to start tour 7!

Lol I got one of those messages as well, but it was from some salty try hard that was mad cause we lost in Husky Raid. Cause you know that’s such a competitive game type…
I am afraid it might be a common thing across gaming in general as it happened to me 2 days ago, in Soul Calibur 6. The message I received read as “try to win without cheating”. The message was especially frustrating since that day I had multiple long losing streaks. It was a really bad day, but I didn’t mind, I just wanted to play. Like seriously man, these people get upset way too easily.

Agreed.
I have come across many of these types of messages in both text and audio chat (more than it should be).

The overshield mechanics also can lead to this type of feeling. You can’t see when someone has it, it often respawns, so you can have a new player jump into the game and never even see the overshield and see someone that constantly absorbs 5-6 pistol shots. Easy to get the assumption that your shots aren’t hitting or that someone is cheating somehow.

I dont understand the nostalgia for toxicity. Personally I would prefer not being called slurs for doing like… anything at all.
This is the same sort of glorification of MW2 lobbies that I also don’t understand. MW2 lobbies were awful and so is stuff like this.
Maybe I’m just more sensitive but I dont think that sort of child-like behaviour should be tolerated, especially in a competitive setting.
Then again I cant force people to do anything.
Wow you’re lucky, I drop like 25 kills and I never get accused for cheating in SWAT
i hate those type of people instead of going ‘oh i went 1-43 casue im bad and need ot get better’ or ‘man im having an off day’ no they have to go to ‘theres no way I could lose that guy has to be cheating!’ makes me sick i tell ya
