I like to play Infinity Slayer because is a quick way to earn XP, those random 1 vs 1 ETC.
But yesterday something happened, i was playing on the map Heaven, i killed a player in the Top/middle side of the map, i took the ramp (the part of the map which shows that sky view) and the guy that i killed respawned:
IN FRONT OF ME!! and guest what! he killed me…
I dont know if this has happened to you guys. I dont blame “Insta-respawn”, i blame the unnecesary Fast-paced put on Halo.
This is the second time that this problem happened to me.
I love Halo but comon! maaaaan! This aint COD! hahhaha ahhhh u_u
The Spawning is pretty bad in Halo 4. Not that it wasn’t questionable in past Halo games either.
I’ve had enemies spawn directly behind me. I’ve spawned in front of enemies multiple times in a row resulting in many deaths on my part. Etc, etc, etc.

While this does suck, be more strategic next time such as allowing your shields to recharge.
> I bet if you killed him two times in a row this thread wouldn’t exist.
lol, no man you are wrong i put this thread because any Halo had this kind of problems, when he killed me: i was shock, i only saw this problem on COD nor Halo.
You mean you came sprinting toward the top of the ramp AFTER he spawned?
The enemy proximity influencers should have pushed him to the back of the map far from where you were, so I can’t buy your claim that he spawned in front of you.
Next time you want to make a claim like this can you provide the film on your file share?
> the SWAT spawns on Haven are horrid, there are countless times i’ve spawned directly next to the enemy team on that map.
Amen. I’m an avid SWAT player and a couple times on Haven, I’ve been jumped by one guy, only to spawn directly in front of his two or three other buddies and get massacred on the spot. In my experience, it’s worse on Abandon.
I really do hope there is some solution to the ridiculous spawns on the smaller maps of this game. I’m lucky to not have run into them too often. In the end you just gotta not die so you don’t respawn
It works both ways really. Yea, sure it is annoying that you whack someone, take two steps, and there they are again. I killed a guy twice this way before he finally got me. It seemed he was always respawned next too me. I as well a few time spawn right in front of the enemy and get whacked before I can get 2 steps forward. I guess as a way for lower skilled players to have a chance at a “revenge” or “comeback” kill, or both. Really it is sort of lame.
What really though that annoys me is when I am going in for a kill and the game pauses for a lag, and we are all looking at the team lists, when I finally get to come back the guy I would have killed by now has time to kill me…
The other real correction I would make is in a team game actually having you spawn with your team, or near a team mate. I have lost track how many times I play Infinity Slayer and get respawned clear across the map from my team, only to run right into all 4 of the opposing team alone…I mean really I am not asking for the Battlefield 3 spawn system, but it is a team game…spawn with your team.
They should just make it so you only spawn next to your teammates and when they are not in combat, it would hopefully take away from spawning next to enemies.
Happened to me in SWAT today, actually. It was hilarious, despite my death.
The lag was so bad I had to fire 4 times in the general area of his head, but I managed to kill him.
Then he respawned in front of me and killed me.
Yes, they need to fix the spawn system so you don’t pop up near enemies or vice versa, but always pop up in a place where you’re not too far away to jump back into the action when whoever killed you has recharged his shield or gotten into another fight.
