They NEED to bring back friendly fire.

Not having friendly fire is just terrible. It means you don’t have to use any discretion when throwing grenades or firing rockets into a group.

FRIENDLY FIRE

  • Pros: rewards skill, immersion, just makes sense- Cons: none
    NO FRIENDLY FIRE
  • Pros: none- Cons: cheap, noob friendly, makes no sense
There is no valid argument for having no friendly fire in the game. Please bring it back in Halo 5.

I have a poll on this topic (kinda) its titled : BOOTING TEAMMATES. over 60% want it back. So I’m in agreement with you!

You can now mindlessly spam grenades… without hurting your team.

SERIOUSLY 343I YOU SUCK

For real. Why did it ever get taken out?

Same reason they took out a visible rank, they cater to people that get there feelings hurt by others~

No FF

Pros: cannot have an entire matched hijacked by some random -Yoink- who makes it his mission in life to betray you for

  • a power weapon- thinking that you’re not trying hard enough- thinking that you’re not playing the way he thinks you should be playing- for a different power weapon- being bored but also being unwilling to quit- no reason whatsoever other than because he canFF can only work if there is a proper booting system - unlike the travesty of the system in Reach. You give me a system which gives me the option to boot every single time I get betrayed and we can talk. I’m not saying I’ll boot every time. I know the difference between a deliberate betrayal and an accident, but when it isn’t accidental and I can’t boot the jerk then the game is ruined. Not the match, the game.

Seems a bit one sided, don’t you think?

When friendly fire is on, its not uncommon for teammates to kill each other over a power weapon. It gets really annoying when two of your teammates aren’t actually playing because they’re fighting over the sniper rifle. Another thing I don’t like about FF is that there’s a chance you might get booted out of a game because you accidentally killed a teammate with a stray grenade, or you ran them over when they suddenly jumped out in front of your warthog. But I agree that its annoying how the lack of FF encourages grenade spam, but I’d rather put up with that than the former.

Dude screw that…
I get betrayed way more in TMCC over weapons, and by Trolls.
I’m glad they took it out.
Put it in a Hardcore or Classic game list. It’d work in Breakout.

I’m definitely against FF, getting betrayed for power weapons or trolls is not fun. and when I accidentally betray someone 60% chance I’m getting booted. Besides FF is still there in the maps with vehicles. You can still splatter your teammates or blow up their vehicles.

It’s a pity there isn’t a decent in-game communication system–one which would also allow you to apologize to teammates. Or, they could simply adjust the scoring system, so that being betrayed does not affect your K/D and does not reset your current spree. If betryaying people just affected the betrayer’s personal stats, not the betrayed person/team, then I doubt there would be a problem.

I don’t like arbitrary game mechanics where people can betray you with vehicles, but not with bullets. That doesn’t feel immersive at all. Change the scoring system–which is fundamentally arbitrary in the first place, and once again, I don’t think there will be a problem.

Of course, it may help if “betrayed” wasn’t just you being killed by a teammate, but also tracked whether or not you had recently received damage from a teammate before dying, too.

I think if these changes were implemented, we wouldn’t need a boot option at all.

In short, I don’t see any reason why friendly fire was removed in the first place.

I’m not sure how I feel about it. I hate when my teammate would kill me just for the fun of it or for a power weapon. I also hated getting kicked out of a game because some stupid player jump in front of my vehicle or rocket.

I agree FF needs to return and everyone saying they get betrayed by teammates for power weapons, play with a party so you don’t have randoms on your team, FF being taken out makes grenades and rockets a spam fest. Betrayals will happen but if players were booted for betrayals and teams lost points for suicides and betrayals they would happen less. But they have taken out so many skills from the past Halos that FF will most likely not be in Halo 5.

All my friend quite playing halo a long time ago. I go no one to make party with when I play the game.

The worst thing about not having friendly fire, for me, is trying to kill an enemy and having one of my teamates walk in front of us and kill the enemy. Happened at least two or three times in the same match

Cons: Team mates kill you for power weapons, for flags, or because they are bored. And the worst of all it happens all the time.

So no, please don’t bring Friendly Fire, i takes away my love for this franchise and it makes me quit games.

The only problem I have with friendly fire is that people start betraying each other for weapons. But other than that, it does force you to watch where your firing and tacitly make decisions.

You all know it’s an option right? You can turn it off and on for any gametype.

I think they mean for matchmaking in general.

Josh Holmes twitter says they took it out for the beta because there was something screwy going on with the scoring system when ff was on. Most likely will be turned back on for final release.

Eh idk

Its probably better off gone.
