They might want to change the BR’s description

This is the current description for the standard BR with recon sight and no attachments:

“Standard-issue burst-fire rifle that can excel at any engagement range.”

Now that doesn’t accurately describe the current BR, now does it? Since it now only excels at mid-range rather than any range, they might want to edit that description. Not important, I know, but I’d hate for the game to mislead new players.

More like, “Standard issue burst rifle which, due to excessive manufacturing defects, has proven incredibly unreliable compared to prior iterations.”

The 1 billion dollar supersoldier not being able to prevent a little gun from kicking makes me omegalul

So very true lol. It amazes me when the weapons lose its efficiency when compared to previous titles. They must have went with the lowest bidder.

the OG halo 5 BR was fine… that weapon tuning update ruined every loadout except the magnum and h2br (the dmr is ok now)

Likely an oversight after they did the weapon tuning. It wouldn’t be the first time they made a mistake with the descriptions, but I doubt it will be fixed.

The only decent BR is the H2 and it got moved to level 5. Half way through the game you have access to it, by then everyone has power weapons so what the point?

Canonically it hasnt changed anyway. 9.5mm is still effective at any range in the real Halo universe, its just in the weird awkward balance-friendly game version that its nerfed.
Same with how “war games balancing” makes the Selenes Lance kick like a mule…when a laser should TECHINCALLY have no recoil what so ever

I actually think the description is correct. If you train yourself with the BR you can get kills with it at any range, it’s just the fact that the Magnum and other weapons are much more appropriate for Halo’s fast-paced, precise gameplay.

The BR is still good, you just have to land all three bullets with each burst shot. But that honestly makes it unreliable compared to the likes of the Magnum, DMR, Carbine and even the Assault Rifle now, especially when players sprint, slide, boost, jump and crouch while moving in any direction at any given moment. The only advantage for the BR is it’s range, but unless you’re playing Warzone, Firefight or BTB it’s not that great of a choice when there’s many other better weapons.

Well said.

i like actually BR it feels heavy and personally i love recoil in the games, look HALO 3 ODST weapons has huge recoil, specially magnum, and to me it feels great, you have to shoot slower. All wepons has to be like this, it will make the game slower and dificult, and the freaking sniper and pistol wouldn’t be OP

Wait, the description tuhin94 wrote isn’t the real description? Who would’ve known I think 343 is purposely trying to mislead new players.

That spread that for me was present with all Battle Rifles going all the way back to Halo 2. Had to rely on other means, like Carbines, stealth and magnums. And Cizlin laughs when I say I want to throw the gun off of a cliff.

Now if you want to change the Description on the Halo 4 BR85HB model, this would be suiting:

“Utilizes three-cricket burst functionality, making it a noisy mid-range semi-insect weapon.” The Halo 4 Battle Rifle sounded like it was firing crickets. This would be the only reason why I would like to see the Halo 4 BR return.

This is what I have been saying since Halo 2, thank you. People always said I had to ‘get good’ with the BR. Doesn’t help when the gun has spread and a bullet from it goes off in some random direction. Compare that to the magnum or Carbine where you either hit your target or you don’t. Gamble with spread and blame the gun, or work with a different gun that either hits or it doesn’t and take ownership of one’s own inaccuracy. You’ve stated what I have been saying for years.

I think it’s funny how the logic in halo is messed up as a spartan flip a tank but can’t control gun recoil can someone explain how that works

Obviously, the guns are just too powerful, but the 100-ton tanks are a piece of cake.

LMFAO. ^On point.
