THEY KNEW

343 knew in advance when MCC was to be released. 343 knew the game wasn’t ready for launch. 343 knew that they can get away with it because of pre-order numbers and good marketing. So quit defending them and start getting on their backs because the game we love is suffering. MCC = Worst Game Launch

Haters. Bring it

Dude, what is the bet, just like Bungie, Microsoft was Christmas money hungry and rushed them too?

My money is on that now. I dislike 343 for continuing to work on Halo 5 when MCC is still broken. I played BETA for a day, got sick of it and still play MCC to this very day. It would be nice if they fixed it.

Microsoft? Well… Don’t get me started.

Working on Halo 5 is like a slap in the face to us faithful that have ALREADY PAID TO PLAY

343 have ruined my experience with halo, I honestly don’t think I will be getting halo 5 either. They don’t deserve any money for this crap. Played the beta and it is not good. It doesn’t even look or feel like halo anymore.

yeah man i just think that if no one was to pre order the game 343 would -Yoink- themselves and would know not to release a broken game

the reason they work on halo 5 is because mcc was a money grab for h5 and possibly h6. 343 knew h2 would attract many old halo fans 343 doesnt care as if halo has 1 million players or 10 if halo is their way theyre ok.

Lol so many conspiracy theorists on here, either way 343 is a company and their main goal is to make money.

Yay same generic thread #1000. You’re not the first to make a forum post about this and unfortunately you probably won’t be last.

So, just like when Bungie released Halo 2?
They probably didn’t do it due to sales and pre-order numbers. They were probably just forced to release it at a certain deadline by Microsoft, the incomplete product is not their fault; they have time restraints set by their publisher you know.
The same goes with Halo 5, they need to test the game as much as possible during this Beta, so those updates may prove very valuable later in the full game’s development. You know, so the game can actually be complete by Microsoft’s deadline.
Blame the publisher, not the dev.

Because we need to start a revolution as gamers to stop the disappointment of hyped games

Exactly this. The degree to which 343i’s MCC team knew this was broken is irrelevant. There was no way that it wouldn’t come out on the 10th anniversary, regardless. And the Halo 5 team has nothing at all to do with it. It’s perfectly reasonable to be angry (this launch is not acceptable), but this paranoid hatred of 343i is immature and uncalled for. Blame the high ups that forced this out “acceptably broken,” not the people working hard to make it right and to make the next game good.

What’s your point? Are you saying they deserve a pass even though this game launched so broken?

Just like Bungie with Halo 2.

Thank you for being rational.

All the games have release dates and requirements to be met, h2 was delayed by 9 months. But h3 was released intact and functional, as was reach, ODST, and H4. Like them or not They functioned. 343 did know this was broke, and still chose to release it. It’s been two months and 6 patches later it still barely functions in mm. Mm been around for ten years and works with all kinds of games. Sorry folks but 343 owns this mess, and deserves the flack.

It’s going around that 343 were using a brand spanking new Online system made by MS that hadn’t been used before, so it that’s the truth, It’s all MS fault, without being anyone’s fault because it’s new tech that needed to be field tested… and well it failed.

A thing that has been bothering me about this last year in games coming out half baked. I seem to remember each game was on the new generation of systems right? Assassins Creed Unity and MCC to name at least two.
Look at the last generation. I know a few of the games that came out within the first year were broken. I feel as though a lot of these issues could be attributed to being the first year of a new generation. With Microsoft being at the helm I can clearly remember Perfect Dark Zero being the one shinning example. It has been documented that Rare was surprised the game even passed certification. Microsoft wanted a killer app on release.
Another issue that people seem to forget. With the advent of being able to update games is a bigger problem that pre-orders will ever be. With this mentality of being able to fix a game in the future with an update may be where we are getting “lazy” development. Yes pre-orders are showing how much a game will sell and that may be a proponent of the “lazy” development. However as the saying goes “the only way to kill a snake”.
Now before members of the hate train come banging on my door this is not an excuse for this poor launch. Just an observation.

Halo 2 was fixed after the first update, not the 7th 2 months after launch.

They didn’t choose to release it, they were ordered by Microsoft to release it.
