They dont even look like spartans anynore

I think all armor looks like something a covenant alien would wear. The only armor that still looks spartan is the Mk VI armor and 343 butchered that horribly. I get that they were trying to show how detailed they can be so bravo but dumb it down a lil 343, Master Chief went into that cryo tube looking a lot different than when he came out. 343 can be as detailed as they want but you still aren’t able to design like Bungie.
343’s tryign to mess with what works and only making it worse. I’m not saying halo 4 isn’t great but the armor (and cortana) is horrible in my opinion.

one thousand variations of power ranger armour inspired by a car compactor. Whoop - de - -Yoinking!- - do

The S-IV armor looks fine. In fact, the Spartan armor in general looks a lot like a Halo 3 throwback compared to the bulky Spartans in Reach. Hop off of 343i’s -Yoink- for once.

I liked the reach armour much better than that of halo 4. The colour system was better too. You could have your main body be one colour and parts like knee pads, shoulder pads be another. In halo 4 everything is striped, not one armour piece is just one solid colour, the most attractive combo I can do now is steel with steel with midnight visor.

The armor looks different probably because the Humans have begun using Forerunner tech and are getting closer to becoming ascended like the Forerunners. They will soon take their place holding the mantle just like the forerunners have.

Smarta$$ moment, then why are you using H4 Master Chief as your avatar?

That said, I somewhat agree with the amount of armor combinations. A lot of them look alien, a few look like they are out of Dead Space and a few hint at a cheesy attempt at having a suit for every locale (i.e. oceanic armor).

Now if the armors actually affected gameplay as the specializations do, that would be something different.

I’m still suiting the recruit armor as my own way of saying the whole thing is silly. There are a few I have considered but havent taken that step yet, its not that important to me.

I never took FPS guys to be creative or artistic with armor, but steel on steel with a black visor doesn’t sound too “attractive.” It sounds pretty bland and commonplace to me.

S-IV’s are sleek and compact, which is how it should be. Reach had “Refrigerator Spartans” for the most part, which looked absurd and totally dysfunctional with their ridiculous bulky, top heavy armor.

Then again, aesthetics are subjective to each individual. To each his own.

What’s sleek about wearing a helmet that looks like a car crash?

I love the new armours, the Reach Spartans looked like beer kegs with legs and arms. Much more combat efficiant and slick this time around. Also a very silly thing to complain about if you think about it.

All the armor looks like they were attacked by an elite with a can opener, They dont even remind me of Spartans anymore.

Helmets need VISORS.

I like a good chunk of the armour. But there are some that I hate, like the EOD (I’ve hated that thing since Halo 3).

Man, its a video game!!! I love Halo and I love a lot of the new armor and sure some of it sucks but that’s MY OPINION as the ones that I might not like others will love. So what do I do? I wear the armor I like and don’t wear the armor I don’t. Its not like I fight an enemy and its less fun because of what he’s wearing.

If 343 who now owns Halo makes armor for Halo, guess what…that’s what Halo armor looks like. End of story.

You must not have very good taste.

Its not a silly thing to complain about. Your spartan represents you as a player just as much as your stats.

It is a silly thing to complain about.

People wanted more armor and 343 Gave it to them. There are strict guidlines for making armour as hit boxes play an important role so I’m happy with the variety that 343 has given us. I don’t care if it doesn’t go along with “canon” or whatever you call it. It’s a fake world that, honestly, the story goes right out the window when you play MM becaus it’s all about kill or be killed. The rest is fluff anyway.

Whatever, Say what you will but 343 is gunna flush halo down the toilette the way their going. The campaign was good but the armor, new weapons, the maps and the playlists are all goin down hill.

S4s are not even real spartans anyway.

If someone gives me all the tools of a plumber does that mean I can do everything a plumber can? Its the same thing with S4’s. They have all the tools of the S2’s except they dont have anythign close to the training and perfect genetics.

I agree with the OP. The armor is this game looks like horse$#it. It in no way fits within the design language of past spartan armor.
