It’s part of Halo now and wouldn’t be right if it wasn’t in Halo5. A thruster pack type thing just isn’t the same.
If they remove it because of hardcore players going on about how it ruins map control and all that BS then I’ll be dissappointed.

It is almost definitely being removed seeing as AAs and loadouts are gone, Thank god.

Didn’t OP just contradict himself?
I’m glad that piece of -Yoink- is being removed.
They most certainly can and they have, seeing as how armor abilities are gone.
Adapt
I hope it’s still available for custom games…
flying is actually fun though…

Eh, you could still set the jump modifier up to 300+ percent and jump like the Hulk.
> It’s part of Halo now and wouldn’t be right if it wasn’t in Halo5.
Nope, it most certainly isn’t “a part of Halo”. Like all unwanted experiments, it was simply passing through.
> If they remove it because of hardcore players going on about how it ruins map control and all that BS then I’ll be dissappointed.
…But it does ruin map control, that’s been a fundemental issue with it since Reach. Higher points in the map could be easily gotten to because of it. It also messed with the flow of the maps in general.

Can’t tell if you are referencing the Reach days when new players were saying this to older players, therefore making you extremely hypocritical…
The jet pack was an abomination. I’m glad its gone.
Most likely gone, with the other AAs.
I never found the joy of it. Wasn’t good for gameplay in multiplayer in my opinion, I’m sure someone can provide quite a few points why it is bad for multiplayer, but not only that, it didn’t really have any use in the Singleplayer either. It was on the mammoth map, and that’s all I remember about it in campaign. A campaign map that didn’t have any extra stuff for the jet pack, like unaccessible spots unless you were using the jet pack.

I’d say as it’s a smiley after it, it’s not a serious remark.

That’s what I was thinking, but just saying “adapt” brings back the memories of Reach and all the hate it received. Funny now, because some want Halo 5 to be more like Reach.
> flying is actually fun though…
Aaaand it makes you an easy target. It makes me giggle whenever someone uses a jetpack, super fun to watch them tumble back to the ground, because once they’re up there, they soon realise that they cant really do anything.
For realsies though, it really does ruin the flow of the map.
I’m the least hardcore of any Halo player but at least I can tell you straight up that the jetpack basically ruined all map design. Fun to use, especially in Customs, but it doesn’t belong in Halo.
oh, they can & they actually removed it already.
I think it could be pretty cool if it acted like a mini-vehicle.
AA’s are gone, but is it confirmed this hasn’t become a base trait?
I for one will miss it. I hope it at least returns as some kind of equipment.

The Jet Pack on its own does not ruin map control and flow, however allowing players to spawn with it does. If the Jet Pack were to return as a map pickup it could still fit into the game quite nicely. In Reach MLG used the Jet Pack as a pickup on some of their maps. That should be proof alone that it can work.

This.
As a map pickup, people can fight for it. Allowing people to spawn with it is what destroys gameplay.
