I’ve just had a terrible premonition. With all this #huntthetruth stuff going around, it got me thinking about Halo 5. That’s when I had an idea. What if, at the end of Halo 5, Locke and the Arbiter finally corner Master Chief, and Arbiter realizes that he can’t carry on with the murder of a man he once called friend. He steps between Locke and Chief, drawing his sword. Locke tells him to cease an desist, but the Arbiter adamantly stands his ground. Locke gives a signal, and a bullet fired from a sniper held by one of Locke’s colorful spartans pierces the Arbiter’s body and he falls to the earth, the light leaving his eyes. He now lies on the cold, hard ground, and Locke steps over the lifeless barrier of Chief’s last ally…
Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. If they do, alright, If they do not, alright.

I, for one, would be sad if the Arbiter passed on. He’s one of my favorite characters!
At least it would be an epic and fitting death, if 343 do it properly.
One less stupid elite to worry about.

If the Arbiter does go down, it needs to be in a blaze of glory that none will forget.
I would absolutely hate it if they killed Thel.
If its true… I hope its in good fashion. I hope he goes down like the ending of halo reach. That was EPIC.

Indeed. It should be a final stand to rival Noble 6’s. Dead Elites/Spartans/Prometheans/Whatever enemies he faces galore!
Wow… I just can’t. I just can’t anymore. All of these ridiculous theories of Locke being some kind of bringer of death, and I just can’t…
“He’s gone AWOL, and the UNSC want him back. I’m going to bring him home.”
Locke is not just some shady character roaming the Halo universe seeking the heads of main characters, he’s pivotal to the next few Halo games and will be working side-by-side with the Arbiter and his Elites throughout Halo 5, judging by H2A’s cutscenes. He’s not the antagonist. Also, doesn’t Locke actually have moral qualms about working for ONI?
And if he were, by any means, charged with the murder of Thel Vadam OR Master Chief, best believe he would not have much longer to live. Not because either Blue Team/Swords of Sanghelios will kill him on the spot, but because he will die as a product of humanity being steamrolled by the Didact, the Insurrectionists, the Storm Covenant, and possibly later, the Flood, without the Chief and the Arbiter’s help fighting them off.

I just thought, because you know, the bullet that kind of found its way through Master Chiefs visor… And the whole “Traitor” scheme…

I believe it has been stated multiple times now that the ‘Bullet’ trailer was symbolic.

The bullet has many words, incluing “hero” on it. It’s more of a representation of questions and piercing the mask to understand who chief is.
Will be absolutely devastated if this happens. Thel is my favourite character in the Halo universe. Although I cannot see him being killed as he will most likely also play a major part in Halo 6.

His BR looks like a toy.
If someone kills the Arbiter in Halo 5 then I’m going to hunt them down and empty a SMG round into his head.

I think this would be a great way to end Halo 5 but I don’t want Arby to die… Arby is love, Arby is life.

But still, this hypothetical bullet went through Master Chief’s hypothetical face.

Except there’s no head underneath or even the rest of his body. It’s merely his helmet. The only thing it’s piercing is what he hides behind.

Okay, if you say so. I think Locke is going to start out as a man-hunter, at least. Perhaps the Arbiter’s death will wake him to reality. The shock that the Arbiter, a Sangheili, was willing to lay down his life for Chief. Just a thought…

Question is: cutscene or playable?
