These threads are getting to me finally...

I started playing Halo 4 the day it came out and in all honesty I loved it and enjoyed it. However, when I started seeing what other people thought about it I was pretty shocked. Complaints about it everywhere and people were not liking it at all, just people leaving left and right. I didn’t think too much of it at first, I knew Halo 4 would be different since it’s 343i and not Bungie, but I refrained from researching it before it came out so I could at least be surprised. And like I said before, the game was pretty different, but it felt like Halo so I adapted and enjoyed it.

Reading these threads though (I’m pretty new to the forums only been here about a month or so), has got me pretty nervous about Halo’s future. I looked at the charts and the numbers dropped INSANELY. People on these threads are still not happy. What am I to think? Is Halo actually dying? Don’t get me wrong though. I personally have not given up and I’m not going anywhere, but it seems almost everyone out there has nothing but hate for this game because it’s different than any other Halo. Sure the game isn’t perfect and has its flaws, but it is not a bad game.

The community only focuses on the negative. I’ve been right there alongside Chief since we first saw that Halo after our crash landing from the Pillar of Autumn and what a journey it has been. I guess I just don’t wanna accept it’s over. What do you guys think? Am I over thinking or overreacting? I love this game but the numbers are there and so are the constant arguments. I’m a die hard Halo fan, I’m rooting for you 343i, but I honestly don’t know what to think now. Guess I just need to be reassured.

I agree with you completely. But I’m not worried about Halo’s future. This happens every single time a new Halo comes out. Complaints and whining left and right about everything. I come on the forums and am immediately sickened by it. Don’t really care what other people think as long as I’m enjoying the game (Which I am).

I think that if it’s bothering you THIS MUCH, you’re spending too much time here

Yeah definitely, I just hope I don’t find myself agreeing with all this crap one day you know? Other Halos were amazing and I loved the experience, but I enjoy this game just as well and I don’t know why all the hate. SO MUCH HATE. And Godzilla it’s not even that hahaha I don’t read them all, the titles say enough.

The trick here is not listening to people whining about every conceivable thing.

Op, you haven’t started playing halo online until a year ago, why are you acting like you have been since halo 2?

Honestly, negativity in a forum is one thing but the way halo 4 has been going and 343’s management of it doesn’t surprise me that it’s basically out of control at this point. I’ve never seen a thread like “custom games” go over 200+ pages with almost nothing to show for it, there’s even two mega-threads in matchmaking about CSR and connection with over 100+ pages each. One doesn’t even have a single 343 response.

I know it’s not good to always listen off forums but even myself, I haven’t touched the game in weeks (due to some personal reasons as a main reason) but I can’t even play unless a friend’s on. This is the halo that makes me quit in just pure frustration after 1-2 games by myself. I follow forums of almost every game I love but the halo 4 stats aren’t great. The population has been on a sharp decline for a while and it seems the more time passes and 343 not really stepping up the front page threads are “I’m done with halo” and their goodbyes with the series. Those threads are happening a lot more with each day and it’s a sad sight to see.

I don’t want the halo series to die out, but I think the way 343 is running the show it’s on it’s way there.

> Op, you haven’t started playing halo online until a year ago, why are you acting like you have been since halo 2?

Just because he has started a year ago doesn’t necessarily mean that he hasn’t played before Halo 4.

Very true, I only got xbox live a year ago myself.

Yes but he is talking about the complainers and 95% of it is about multiplayer.

If you stick around for another month you will find the funny side to it all.I know i have hahaha.Besides, at least they are complaining, it shows that they still have not quit Halo yet.I would only be worried if there was no complaining at all, because that would indicate that no one cares anymore. One thing you can be certain of is that if somebody loves something, they see the small things that annoy them.

Like me i look at Resident Evil nowadays and instantly don’t care, since i don’t like the gameplay at all.So i look at all this complaining in a different light, in that it is actually a good thing… it means people care.

Though there is the occasional person that comes on waypoint that is bored to hell and just wants to rage and flame everywhere just because they could.

My current gamertag is only a year old pal, but you can bet I have played and beat every Halo since they have come out. And Yummy yeah I get you, I just hope the game dies just cause of numbers you know?

So playing less time than someone automatically makes all their opinions and thoughts invalid, right?

Opinions are opinions, time doesn’t make your opinions worth less.

OP, please listen to me here. As a long time fan of the Halo series myself, you have nothing to worry about in respect to all the complaints. This has happened with EVERY Halo release. H2 to H4. Its the same people complaining about small facets of the game that they didn’t get ‘their’ way.

What worries me is how well Halo will do after the release of Destiny if 343i really don’t open the story up more.

They need to give us more of the universe in order for it to compete with the next gen of triple A titles. Halo has always been about the story.

> They need to give us more of the universe in order for it to compete with the next gen of triple A titles. Halo has always been about the story.

Not if they introduce more story the way Halo 4 did.

OP, Its these forums that’s the problem. People come here to troll mostly instead of actually playing to enjoy the game and the competition it brings.

Some are old Halo fans and do like to see changes so they want for Halo 4 to revert back to the old game mods/style.

Others may/are COD fans, and the way I see it is, they want Halo to fail.

I say instead of allowing trolls to seek to revert Halo 4 back to 3, 2, or Reach, ODST style, and to help quiet the COD crowd. Lets limit each accounts access to waypoint forums. One hour a day is enough to post threads, comments etc. For the other 23 hours per day, only allow said accounts to read these threads.

The negativity here only serves to induce hatred for 343 and Halo 4.

BTW: I thought that if a “Nerf the DMR/BS” thread was already posted, then any threads made after it were locked by the monitors with a link to the original?
But thats not the case. Two days ago I counted 5 of em all on page 1 of these forums. Then one of the OP of said threads also put up a thread calling someone out by name. Not good!

If we kept a record of those who posts the same threads over and over by simply rewording their topic threads. We could identify trolls and place a 7 day ban on them. That would also help to curb a lot of unnecessary clutter.

For what it’s worth… My .02 Cents!

PS 343. I like Halo 4 and enjoy playing it. Especially Sp Ops, and Customs. War games I can hold my own but just barley. LOL - Doesn’t stop me, and mine from trying though!

LOL~ It actually does. Educated vs uneducated opinion.

Halo will always be supremely respected for what it’s done to this franchise. With that said, it’s over a decade old now. Things only remain relevant for so long as the landscape around them changes. Halo is not dying - it is simply becoming a game for niche audiences. This is not a negative thing. The game does not have to be “popular” for you to enjoy it.

These forums are always so negative. don’t worry about it. Also halo 4 is close to outselling halo 3 so it’s popularity isn’t going away. Sure the population may be lower than it has been but that’s because more popular games have taken over the market (modern shooters). There’s no need to worry about population until it becomes impossible to find a good game

Ignorance is bliss right?
