These prices are disgusting

But how can you talk about whales and still–nvm.

At this point I’m just so tired of arguing about this game with anyone, at any time – like genuinely I feel defeated. You have your opinion and I have mine.

What advantage exactly do players have from buying these? Last I heard, halo 6 was a free game. Do players that spend money have an edge on everyone else?

Because nearly ALL customization is through the store. You can get 2% from the campaign, the rest is by direct purchase and with these prices, it’s reasonable that there would be people upset.

Let me put this into perspective for you… There are people that spend thousands yes THOUSANDS of dollars on games, the top 1%, I do not put myself into that category. You’ve got blood on your hands just like everyone else. The rest of my reply was far more meaningful btw.

My favorite example of this in motion was when Bethesda charged (I wanna say) $10 for horse armor in Oblivion, it didn’t function as actual armor, and was heavily scrutinzed at the time. Bethesda (probably Todd lies Howard himself) stated that it sold like hotcakes. Its just the state of gaming we’re in. That was like 15 years ago I might add.

No. Its all cosmetic.

Again, just furthering my argument that Campaign is not worth $60.

Obviously, that number you used (2%) will only go down with time as they release more cosmetics into the store weekly.

I mean we can argue how valuable most of the stuff in the store actually is, but I still stand by my comment that most of the free stuff is superior. The Esports coatings are arguably the best in the game, and you didn’t have to pay a dime for any of them. The free part of the BattlePass still gives some decent stuff for free. The Campaign isn’t free btw but it still gives cool coatings for vehicles and certain weapons.

Okay. So spending money on that is completely ineffective and will not affect gameplay in any way. If that’s the case, why would any sane individual whiff their presumably hard-earned dollars?

Because they wanna look cool.

Edit: Nobody said they were sane lol.

You see, I didn’t pay for campaign because I have gamepass. However, asking why someone would complain if they don’t plan on buying something is just stupid. The store is beyond overpriced and nearly walls off all customization.

You paid -Yoink!- for the subscription. Its not very different from Netflix or Hulu.

Edit: Bruh that was censored? Holy crap. Microsoft not playing around lol

Yes but it was never meant for them in the first place. This is like people complaining about the price of the Campaign, yet are not interested in it themselves. Pointless.

What did you even type? Lol

MS but I replaced the S with a $

talk about some obtuse censorship. Not that it matters much, but dang that’s crazy.

“Looking cool” does not translate to actually being skilled at the game. Do foolish players really whiff real money on meaningless and completely useless different on-screen pixel configurations?

Yep. There are lots of them. Its why Microtransactions are so popular.

At the time I laughed and cried so hard because as a PC player of ES games, I knew about the mod scene, and how it was free. It was quite a revelation to behold. Xbox 360 was a rollercoaster to watch.

I feel sorry for them if that’s the case. No matter which of the various useless armor configurations they choose to waste their time assembling, they will still be as easily killed by someone like me with default armor configurations

Talk about holier than thou mentality. You’re not unique, there are plenty of other users on the forum who are as “baffled” as you are that people like customization.

People customize forum avatars despite it not increasing their reading comprehension. People wear clothing IRL that isn’t all gray despite the coloring and styling not adding to warmth or utility. People get tattoo’d for thousands of dollars.

We’re human. We like personalizing things. Get over yourself.

But it’s the prices stopping people. Could I spend £50 on cosmetics? Sure, iv done that over time in other games but the difference is on other games I’m not spending £20 on a few armor pieces.

Spending money isnt an issue, it’s the fact of it being so much at once, alot for what it is and you’re forced into a bundle.

Make stuff cheaper and singular then I could justify spending some money every now and then. But I’ll never spend XX just because I like 1 piece in the bundle.

There is no customization here. No matter what you do, your character in-game is exactly equal to all of your opponents’ characters. Go ahead, change your useless armor all you want! It won’t affect the outcome of any game

Way to miss my point entirely.

I didn’t miss any point, I’m just speaking the truth. Whatever “armor” a player decides to use has no impact upon the outcome of whatever game they are in

Re-read my post and feel free to come back when you understand how I literally said people like personalizing things despite it not helping gameplay. We do this inside and outside of video games. If you ever cared about your appearance IRL not for the sake of utility like warmth then you are doing the same thing people like to do in video games.
