These prices are disgusting

I agree that enough people are buying to justify the current prices, but I think that they could make more money in the long run if they reduced prices.

For example, I will never buy from the store at this rate. But if they knocked prices down by %50 I could see myself buying some armour sets.

I think prices/bundles will definitely adjust with player spending habits. It’s hard to say but in every game I play pretty much there are multiple players with lots of things from the store.

So I don’t see it happening in the immediate future, but I do agree the pricing structure is off-putting to me as well. I’ll still buy a bundle I’ll like but I’ll definitely be more cautious about bundles due to the price. Cheap things I think would have got out of hand ha.

Definitely agree. If they dropped the prices by even 25% I’d consider buying a bundle or two a season.

Anytime I look at a bundle that has multiple of the same emblem I treat it as 1 item as I feel emblems, coatings and skins should be universal across all armor cores, vehicles, weapons, etc.

For a weapon skin, armor coatings, emblem and nameplate I’d would be okay with spending $8 CAD on if it wasnt locked to a core or weapon.

$4 for an armor coating
$2 for weapon skin
$1 for emblem
$1 for nameplate

I feel so sad for some people that definitely hit their head this morning… I mean, they are DEFENDING abusive prices.

Yes I would LOVE to buy cat ears for my spartan, a urban cammo pattern and weapon “attachments”… but im not willing yo pay $10 - $20 for one thing. The colors, stickers are just filler.

Stop defending this…I can’t believe im even have to say this

No one is defending this… I see one person saying we’re wasting our time discussing it because change will only come from the consumer data, not stomping or feet in the forums, that is not defending anything.
Everyone here would prefer store prices to be lowered.

I made a post about this a week ago, a day or two before their live stream addressed it, and it will take time for change starting with these events.

I do, whole heartedly, agree that if the changes don’t start shaping up in the next few weeks, then it will be obvious, they are ignoring the large majority of their player base. Welcome to modern gaming, I guess.

If you want a more in-depth opinion of my take on this check out my article “The PAYWALL for ARMOR has to go”.

My issue isn’t the bundle price, it’s the fact I have to pay for a bunch of stuff I don’t want in order to get 1 article that I want.

I don’t want to spend 20 bucks on 5 items, 4 of which I don’t want. But I WILL spend 5 bucks on something I DO want, if it was stand alone.

Also, I want cross coring. The fact that Meowlnir Ears are not cross core or at least the MK7 Helmets aren’t cross core is the entire reason why I’m not picking them up. GG 343, you just lost a customer before you even got them to the stage where they consider a purchase.

I wish I hadn’t bought credits in advance. I feel swindled…

its cheaper then ordering food through door dash… it last longer too

343 is just grabbing what they can at this point because they know as you do players will throw money at the shop.

The problem I have is their lying to the player base face and the CM telling half-truths. The thing is, they had no problem saying this is the new model for the game, and that alone should tell you (they don’t give a flying hoot what any of you say.)

It can’t get any more clear than that.

The people on these forums discussing it are consumers why do you think they’re discussing it

The prices for even the daily bundle is way too hot the daily bundle should be a dollar at the most and the $20 bundles should be $5 as they’re not offering a lot and with it being maybe a bigger bundle that gives more items $10 is the most maybe even 15 which is kind of pushing it but if they were these prices ranges there would be way more people buying them

The game isn’t worth it.

  • $60 for the campaign, a small fraction of the full game (theater, MM, CG, Academy/ combat training, and Forge if they bring that back).
  • Fewer maps, game modes, customization options/ freedoms, and playlists than previous games.
  • The MM, challenge systems, and rotating equipment spawns almost feel like they’re DESIGNED to work AGAINST you.
  • And almost everything is locked behind a $10-30 paywall, most you can already grind, just they’re basically charging you for permission to use what you’ve already earned. They charging you more for less, and most of what they’re charging, you should already have access to once you earn it.

You know how much I spent on this? $10 for one of the armor kits because I didn’t want to spend several times that for legendary boosters in H5 to grind another minimum of - I think 1,662 MWZFF matches to level up another 20-30 some times for black and red armor.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they allowed you to buy one thing at a time from the bundles at a much lower price.

Also I made a post on how this bundle says 11 items but it’s it 5 items, they are selling you the same coating and Emblem more than once and inflating the price saying oh you get 11 items when that sword emblem is just purposely locked to specific items to make it look like your getting more

Also if your purchase anything from the store it should be universal to everything. If I buy a coating it should automatically go on every vehicle weapon and Armor core.

343 makes you pay once to get -Yoink!- and than pay again and again and again to get it for everything.

specific Coatings emblems should only be for earned dsruff

We all would be interested in purchasing stuff from the store IF the prices weren’t so insane and if the game wasn’t designed so poorly. The Coatings in the “Fire and Frost” set are actually sick af, but first of all I’m not spending $20 on something simple like Coatings, and secondly I’m not spending $20 buying the same Coating multiple times.

Honestly, even if the weekly bundles were 100$ instead of 20, a lot of people would still buy them.
Tells quite a bit about disparity, too…

There is a point where the price hurts sells so much so that it actually hurts the revenue/profit. Not to mention there would probably just be certain members of 343i themselves that would argue over it internally (343i have hundreds of people, they bicker and moan all the time I imagine)

They’re probably just looking at everything via data and reevaluating things. I’d argue most of the stuff from the store (them kitty ears are worth it 100% though) is just overpriced garbage that I wouldn’t buy for $5 let alone 10-20 dollars, however I am not a whale. I am a dolphin or something at most.

They’d be worth it as a separate item that you can purchase for $2 at most, anything else is just ridiculous. And if you buy that bundle, then sorry but no, you ARE a whale.

Remember when Bungie thought loot boxes with repeatable loot that were dismantle-able for common materials was the way to unlock items?

I sure do.

Folk’s concept of time goes out the window when they reference Destiny in a positive light. It should be praised, but it had a rough road to slog through to get to that point.

Bungie didn’t start getting microtransactions sorta right until only a few years ago. But on top of that, Destiny also has a multitude of profit avenues that don’t specifically rely on cosmetic offerings. Right now Halo has the $60 campaign, a $10 battle pass, and its storefront.

Destiny had 2 games over the course of 7 years to figure this out and dropped the ball both times before it finally got it right both times. Halo’s been out for a little less than 2 months, things will hopefully sort themselves out like they did in Destiny, twice.
