these annoying little nuisances...

there are some things in halo 4 that just frustrate me so much i have to get them off my chest one way or another so that is what this thread is for, im not trying to start arguments nor am i tryin to make this game sound horrible… these are just things that frustrate me a lot… do not try to troll me cause i will troll you harder.

assisnations… why is it every time i back smack someone my character does the animation, even though i NEVER want to do it, gets me killed half the time, pisses me off so much…

melee system… why is it so inconsistant that sometimes i seem to be able to lunge at the person like i have a sword even if i dont when other times my beat down simply doesn’t connect even if im dry humping the person…

flinch… why dont we have descoping anymore? the skillful aspect of battling for the scope is no longer here, instead we have flinch which is just annoying and results in fearless gameplay, not smart gameplay, everyone challenges everything, snipers have nothing to fear cause they can snipe you across map even if youre shooting them.

footsteps… seem to be super loud in this game, i can hear people walkin on the other side of the map yet sometimes people can walk right up behind you and assisnate you without you hearing a single footstep, inconsistancy here…

auto-grab… cant tell you how many times this has killed me, sometimes i accidentaly pick up the flag when im in their base trying to lock it down with a power weapon and now i cant drop it and that power weapon is useless and does me no good, or i am escorting our flag carrier and they die when im right next to them and it automatically gives me the flag even if i dont want it at that point in time… there needs to be a button to hold to pick it up, even if you cant drop it after you pick it up, auto-grab is just super annoying…

sniping is incredibly over powered in this game… mostly because of flinch like i mentioned above… they have no fear, they know that they can get hit and stay scoped in and atleast hit a body shot if they dont get the head shot, super annoying on any map… no scoping seems to be incredibly easy in this game as well, probly easier than any other halo has ever been, i believe the more deadly a weapon is, the harder it should be to use.

these are just some things off the top of my head that annoy me that seem to happen pretty consistantly… i didnt mention anything about ordnance or other weapons because whenever i play i only play team throwdown, otherwise my list would probly be a lot longer… again do no flame me or troll me cause i will just troll you right back… this thread was just to get all the little nuisances i have with this game out there…

When you are going to back melee someone, try not to push too much the melee botton, well atleast this works fine for me.

About the footsteps, im in accordance with you, i dont why 343 thought this was a good idea, its unnecesary and distracts the player even in swat is unnecesary (Halo 3 proves this).

Funny cause two of these things happened to me in the same game this morning.

Assassinations animations are definitely a problem:
25% of the time you’ll get your kill without dying yourself
25% of the time you get your kill but get killed too because it takes too long
25% of the time a teammate will steal your kill and you end up with an assist
25% of the time you get destroyed before getting your kill an end up with nothing at all.
It completely destroys your momentum when you are faced with 2 or three enemies at the same time as your completely helpless for 2 seconds. Time that you don’t have in this fast-pace H4.
Assassinations animations are pretty to watch, but the downsides are not worth it at all. It’s incredibly frustrating and they should take those out, if that’s possible.

Second thing was automatic flag pick-up. Earlier today I went to opposing team’s base with 2 rockets, entered it and before I could get a shot off I accidently picked up the flag, and got destroyed instead of getting a nice double or triple kill. Annoying.

I don’t seem to have the same assassination problems as you it always seems to work fine for me except when I get the occasional laggy game and the player im trying to assassinate disappears on me, but that’s no the game its the internet.

Melee also seems to always work fine for me, im not sure i understand the issue your having.

Flinch I agree with you on, its stupid and makes no sense.

foot steps im guessing is someone using the stealth attribute from wetwork spec completion, annoying yes, but I dont think its inconsistency just an overpowered ability when combined with the active camo.

Well, Spartans weigh around 1,000 pounds. Pretty sure they’re going to make a lot of noise when they run and walk.

TO EVERYONE SAYING FOOTSTEPS ARE INCONSISTENT:
There is this little thing called the Stealth Mod. You can equip it after completing the Wetwork Specialization. It completely silences your footsteps making you utterly silent when walking, running, and sprinting.

I for one love the loud footsteps. Pretty much tells me where the enemy is. All you have to do is listen. Wherever there are footsteps, and your team isn’t, then you know where the enemy is.

I’m getting very tired of missing pummels from people that are right in front of me. Every single time the other person can hit me like they have the sword. I miss and they hit me from the same range…I die

Footsteps seem inconsistent too. Maybe it’s drowned out in so many other noises. I hear footsteps the most when I play doubles, swat, Team snipes, even throwdown, but other times I just don’t here them at all. It feels random.

Flinch, no comment…it’s bad

Autograb is most frustrating in flag. I try to sneak around enemy’s flag, a few feet away, “ALERT ALERT flag is taken= Nooooooo!.”

I get few false assassinations every know and then. I personally don’t like the feel of the Halo 4 sniper at all…

> I felt it was an unfair part of Halo of old. What happened to being on an even playing field? Just because you’re a good player doesn’t mean you get the privilege of taunting your opponent then easily killing them.

guys… to everyone saying that i cant hear the footsteps because they are using the stealth mod, you have to remember in my post at the end i said i only play team throwdown… it has a set loadout and their are no “perks” no one can be using the stealth mod so i still believe there to be an inconsistancy there…

just found another thing that is really annoying and seems to be inconsistant…

sheild recharge rate… i played a few games last night and it seemed to take forever for my sheilds to recharge, i even had 3 seperate occasions where my sheilds NEVER recharged and i died because of it… i believe shields are supposed to recharge after 4 seconds but i was timing it evertime and i was getting 4 seconds some times, 5 sec sometimes, and even 6 seconds sometimes… and of course sometimes them not even recharging at all… im going to upload it to my file share

also an update on flinch…

i think flinch is inconsistant because in some games i tend to experience more flinch than in other games… i shouldnt be able to notice this if it was the same every time… just makes me wonder if the team im playing against is experiencing the exact same amount of flinch as i am or if they are getting less/more flinch…

just another reason they should have never took out descoping
