I know we’re all let down by the no show for Infinite at the xbox gamescom event. To be fair, 343i never said they would have an announcement, but it still stings.
However, Gamescom opening night live is tomorrow at 2PM ET (https://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/1430228414242250752/photo/1), and Xbox Game Studios will be participating. My hopes aren’t high, but there’s still something there. Maybe it’s just cope. I don’t know how many “it is what it is” I have left in me at this point.

It’s definitely possible. Maybe they’re anticipating more press at gamescom, as opposed to a pre-event stream?

I’d be happy if Joe even shows up for half a second, at this point.
Grasping at straws like this will only lead to further disappointment. If 343 was going to have a presence, they would have given a heads up about it. A release date (or delay) will get announced whenever it does I guess.
If they don’t give the fans anything positive soon they will sit and fester in the coop and forge cut for weeks and hype will go way downhill.
I think they underestimate the amount of negative press this kind of stuff gives when they don’t release any news or updates to even the scales.
If they skip gamescom and wait to long it’s going to be a marketing failure on their side. Not saying it’s going to ruin the game or anything. Just saying that when you search for infinite on yt it doesn’t exactly say “great finished game with lots of features”… Not a great place to be when you are trying to target a new audience. And not exactly great hype for returning fans.
It would just be a great opportunity to show us something amazing in the campaign. So much of the campaign reveal has been about showing us the more classically-inspired art direction, the armor, etc.
So many people are having meltdowns over the forge/co op announcement…wouldn’t it seem appropriate for a flagship title of the Xbox brand (arguably THE flagship series) to wow us with a hell of a tease in a trailer that really makes us say “okay fine…we’ll wait for co op/forge, but let us play this game now.”

It’s not grasping at straws when we basically have confirmation that they’ll do something already: gamescom award: the award for the best games of the year | gamescom
At least 10 minutes of recorded footage has to be sent to qualify for award nomination. Hopefully it’ll be something new.

They didn’t at e3 so you never know.
343 Industries need to give us some updates about the upcoming Halo Infinite especially with Gamescom 2021 is still ongoing.
I mean submissions said they have to be submitted by March 2021…Could be the footage from last year or the multiplayer trailer…

There is a cinematic multiplayer trailer. As far as I know, no new gameplay footage.
