Heroes shouldn’t be able to garrison especially the hunter captian. How is that fair and what’s the strategy in making 1 unit and pressing a button? This is a strategy game right? I was just in 2 3v3 games where the hunter captain went to one of our bases and garrisoned.
We had anti infantry turrets and a whole bunch of flame throwers and even locust and tanks. Nothing can take it out especially with Johnson healing it with restoration drones, johnsons heal ability, and the hunter captains engineer swarm.

Hunter captain is quite powerful in a garrison. My advice would be to rush for the garrisons first with infantry. Hunter captains outside of the garrison is pretty easy to take out with t1 units.

The hunter can easily kill what’s in there unless it’s a hero and take it’s place, plus Johnson has bunker drop.
The strategy is to see if you have a garrison infront of your base, then check if there’s an enemy Colony. Learn. In 1v1’s rushing basic infantry to enemy garrisons can be really annoying to the enemy.

Well I would argue that if you had either scouted the hunter captain or built the right units to counter him then he would not have been that big of a deal to you. If you are playing UNSC you can just simply make snipers at your base which will kill him. If you are banished you can make rangers. I don’t see how one hunter captain took out your entire base after what units you just described you used against him.

The bunker is pretty easy to kill. And I would use garrisons to delay the captain then try to snipe it before it gets the chance to take it. If you are playing as ship master then you can put a recon mine inside of the garrison which will take out the shields instantly when it tries to garrison. I think the hunter captain is Op in a garrison right now but for now we have to find ways to deal with it and do the best we can to try and beat it.

I have gone against the hunter captain a number of times… I don’t think this is true at all unless you are just using one sniper at a time without any nightingales to support him… Also you can cloak the hunter so that he doesn’t shoot at them.
Plenty of strategy actually. If you are foolish enough to leave a garrison right in FRONT of YOUR base open when playing a colony, then it is your lack of strategy that gets punished by this rush. Not to mention elite rangers or anything else with a longer range than colony will kill him in the garrison. Not to mention if they rushed the garrison, it means the hero likely wont have any upgrades.

As I’ve already said, the hunter captain can easily kill whatever’s in the garrison and take it. One of the maps was the one where there are two garrison towers on either side of your base, I had infantry in each tower and he came over, killed the infantry and took the tower! I even had turrets but it didn’t matter. What is the counter to that? Are we suppose to keep our heroes in all the towers the whole game?
its cheap and makes the game less fun and boring because no one wants to play this BS so they quit anyways.

No one is going to have an air pad and level 2 snipers less than 5 minutes into the game

Wait, you mentioned Hero rushing and Tanks? how is that possible. Are you talking about actually getting rushed by their hero? or just garrisoned heroes?

No its not cheap, it is actually quite expensive. An early armoury+hero will cripple your early game economy. The counter to this (if 1v1) is to send hellbringers to their base. They wont have any units as they put all resources into the hero. If you are banished, simply make elite rangers (they are longer range than the captain, from memory, so he cant shoot them) or UNSC have the snipers with the stancheon rounds upgrade and im fairly sure they can snipe him out of cover. Or use a lot of hellbringers. Also look out for siphon overcharge…
I use this hunter captain strategy, but mid game. I use it to annoy the enemy. It only wins the match for me against players who don’t know the game. Even when fully upgraded with 2 skitteres, he gets owned by anti infantry. You just have to be smart and not panic, as thats the whole point of this hero use-to panic the enemy.

I do the early colony hero to and I send him to cap points while I have my units scout and collect resources, I put 2 skitterers on him after I hit tech 2 and I immediately get the siphon overcharge, best part of sending him out to collect nodes is that it helps him to get veterancy and if he has vet 3 he is nearly unkillable because I believe the health siphon increases the health he regens the more dmg he does which is what veterancy does, I get him to vet 3 and he is able to kill ALOT of stuff, even anti-infantry, THE ONLY time he will ever have a hard time is if its against UNSC and they upgraded the snipers with the last upgrade that increases their dmg because what it does is it stuns him everytime he gets shot by the snipers so only 3-4 of them with the upgrade will stunlock the hunter captain to death
