There's no problem with Infinite's Graphics!

People seem to have all their hate revolving around the graphics. However, specifically Infinite, I dont see any other of Halo’s graphics able to work with this. I’m not just thinking about its landscape, but all of previous Halo’s graphic designs started being, in my terms, too simple (CE+), too clumped (Halo 3+) and too beefy (4 and Guardians).

With a "s****imple" design gives the animation of averything very limited to what you are able to do. You just happen to seem very stiff as a chracter in terms of gameplay.

With a “clumped” design, you seem to have everything bigger than how you foresee things. Ironically, makes you see the common stuff. Focuses on less detail.

While “beefy” adds too many details and effects everywhere to take it all in. In some ways its good, but it also makes nothing able to stand out and just be a mess.

Infinite’s graphics are meant to follow up from CE’s design. While being simple, its also smoother and lighter on detail. Making everything able to stand out and also be clean. So when thinking sbout the direction of gameplay they are going for, the graphics for Infinite fit well for specifically Infinite’s style.

I could follow up on my “Simple”, “Clumped” and “Beefy” terms but I dont want the thread to be too long. If people want me to clarify for on that, I can down here replying to others or messages.

But overall, I support the graphics. They have some problems like lighting and renduring, but thats for the final game to fix.

People that think Graphics are more important than Gameplay are the problem with video games today. We started from just a few pixels and now we are here, and in all that time it wasn’t the graphics of those games that made them classics of the eras, it was the quality of the gameplay.

That being said, I think the graphics look amazing from what I’ve seen so far.

The graphics are great for this Halo game. I can’t see it with any other Halo game, which can be said back to the other graphics towards this game.

The gameplay however looks amazing. Only thing we see that apparently people dislike si sprint. Everything else seemed like an ability. Only ability we had is the grappling hook but that’s exclusively permanent to campaign, which, is probably a relevant to Infinite’s playstyle. It does also seem more simple and mobile than spartan abilities.

I agree, I completely enjoyed the gameplay and are looking forward to see more of it and playing it in the future when it releases. As a reader of the original books that had to do with Master Chief and the games, I’m reallying digging the open world vibes and rpg elements, It helps make you feel like you are really on Halo.

I don’t think it will be RPG. I think it will be more like Batman Arkham games or Spiderman PS4: An open world with full of toys to use and do, with a small upgrade tree. No stats, just abilities.

Because graphics are more important than gameplay apparently, no one ever talked about the fact that the sound effects sound like they’re straight from Halo 5.

Absolutely no one thinks graphics is more important than gameplay.
They just dropped the ball on their first impression and really killed the hype. Halo doesn’t need to have mind blowing graphics but showing a demo that looks like something from 10-15 years ago is a very bad idea.

I think the graphics are just very bright for a game. Its probably on purpose to portray the beauty of a Halo Ring without it look dark and intimidating.

Its not like there is some universal law saying you can’t have great graphics and good game-play. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Simply put, cross gen is limiting this game severely. Period. This game was built for Xbox One and upscaled to series X. They want to market the series X as this glamorous system yet their flagship game looks like it’s on last gen. This will hold back Halo sales in addition to the Series X sales.

They had to commit to moving to next gen and not play this game of in between gens. It’ll come back to haunt them and this franchise.

I disagree, I think it’s the smartest play they can make. the day 1 install base numbers for this game are going to be mind blowing, and that’s going to let them be super creative and experimental with it, which is when Halo is at its best.

The gameplay looked boring. It’s basically Halo 5 minus the thruster pack abilities. The graphics are only a big deal because they’ve been hyping their new engine up for years now and it’s supposed to show off the next big console’s power but it looks worse than Halo 3. It’s such a noticeable issue that it’s impossible to not bash it.
They talked up their graphics and released beautiful preview trailers years ago but in the end the final product looks nothing like what they had been building it up to be.

Yes, the numbers of players will be higher. But I and many others aren’t going to run out to purchase a Series X when my One X will play the games nearly the same.

This game was supposed to be a next generation game and help sell the Series X. Early indications show it’s not even close to that level.

yes, years of build-up with one stupid little trailer that effectively told us nothing about the game. if you were all looking at infinite’s reveal trailer thinking that the game would look like that, that’s extremely halfwitted. of course, the reveal would look so pretty because it was completely pre-rendered. you know the halo 2’s reveal trailer looked pretty nice for the time, so did halo 3’s and I definitely wouldn’t say those games actual graphics lived up to what was presented in those videos. this is not an uncommon practice, even for 343, this happens all the time.

Dude Infinite legit looks worse than Halo 3. It’s not like it looks a little worse than the engine preview from a few years ago which would be somewhat expected, but it looks worse than a 13 year old game from two generations ago. It’s laughable.

Personally halo is my 80% played game, I have been looking forward to this game for years now,but I have to say destiny which I do not like due to open world, there graphics are amazing,I was hoping for a major upgrade in graphics this time round, it was disappointing for me, weapons look cleaned up and great, I get now that halo games will always look a little cartoony, which honestly does leave enemies alot more easy to see, than compared to the new call of duty with stunning graphics,it so harder to see a enemies for a distance, grappling hook is brill for me, multiplayer I hope it’s in also, minds me of bulletstorm alot ,I hope ground pound is not removed as I love and use alot ,I pray the flood are back and the infection games use the flood infected again unlike halo 5 glowing green Spartan, I will infact be glued to this game, but no way on earth I’m upgrade to series X,due to the graphics I’m sticking with my X now 100% ,I hope there is 4 player split screen on campaign and online multiplayer, like usual I’ll play campaign once, like when we watch a cut scene from halo wars, the graphics are mind blowing, why don’t they make a entire game playable to look as good as that, there’s plenty games out there do it already on Xbox one,I hope you can spawn in enemies in forge this time round, would make for brill game types like killing floor 2

Wow, the forums have suddenly gone soft on 343i.

I have staunchly defended Halo 4, but Infinite looks rough.

yeah, worse than 13 year old game with foliage that despawns as you walk away from it because of the game’s limited render distance, with textures so low res nowadays they look like a -Yoink- jpeg, and character models that look like melted plastic. compared to a game with grass covering the valley’s of the game as far as the eye can see, beautiful lighting that thank god doesn’t rely on pure bloom to convey itself (unlike another game), and character models that look like it could be an actual person inside the mjolnir armor compare to the chief in 3 who’s limbs were so offplace they were practically dislocated in order to make the rest of his movements looks natural.

Digital foundry, whose opinion and analysis on graphics ect I do trust say much differently. Please watch there video on it, then come back and either edit your statement or delete it entirely.

Doom eternal laughs at this demo in xbox one x graphics.
