It’s a weapon leak, “M392 Bandit”, so people are getting excited.
But you are correct, the DMR hasn’t been implemented yet.

Wait, the DMR is going to replace the Commando?
I doubt it will be a replacement, just another gun added.

In my custom games my starting weapons will be the are AR and the DMR.
( rumour is it will be in the next update in August so they say lol )

That’s a commando, not the dmr. All tough the dmr is going to be in game soon it will be a wait. In no way does the commando even compare to the dmr. In all seriousness the commando is like a high caliber assault rifle. The dmr is a (designated marksman rifle) it’s much like a sniper rifle but less power but higher fire rate.

Commando is still gonna be ingame. The commando is just a new gun the game has. Nothing more nothing less… if anything the thing is just a high caliber AR
The “bandit” version seems to be a cqc version, it has a much shorter barrel then previous dmr designs. Plus it is only using iron sights.
I wonder if they’ll have a scoped version like a “m392 marksman” with a longer barrel and better damage

It has the rails on top that would accommodate a scope.
Think the leaked pic is lacking a scope because there’s a plan to add weapon customization and attachments, and that’s just the base model with no scope selected

Very good chance it’ll be a power weapon of some sort (allegedly), audio supports this (allegedly).
Don’t gaslight yourself or others, you’ll end up disappointed from your daydreams. The only “alleged” feature from your statement that is certain (allegedly) is that it has no scope (allegedly).
It’s not going to be a starter weapon (allegedly), it’s most likely going to be a pad weapon (allegedly), most likely tier 3 (allegedly).
In short, all we know is that it’s not replacing anything. That’d be silly.

Well. Yeah, it’s… honestly more of a Halo: CE pistol with shot lead and a slower ROF + better scope. That’s it though, that perfect 3SK+Shield Bleed is great.
It ain’t a DMR though… and this won’t be the DMR either. This is gonna’ be the Bandit Rifle.

I believe I read somwhere that technically the Commando is not a precision weapon or DMR and instead it’s actually an MG. Something to do with the designation. Functionaly I think this holds true at range compared to the current BR. The DMR will probably be silimar to the BR but also more accurate at range. That’s really just a guess though.
I said this in a previous post but I wonder if the m392 “bandit” is just the cqc version of the dmr. From what I noticed it has a shorter barrel (as short as can get since it’s a bullpup) and it doesn’t have a optic on it. It’s just iron sights. If that’s the case I’m sure they’d add a m392 “marksman” variant sporting x2-4 scope, longer barrel for more ballistic powder burn, etc.

Much like how in the campaign weapons had a second variant. Like the br75 standard and the br75 “breacher” I don’t remember if it had a higher ammunition count but it had a much much faster fire rate and more range.
We know from Forge leaks that there will be some ability to modify weapon properties. It’s not that much of a stretch to think this could include swapping scopes around.

Weapon properties similar to how weapon deployment pads worked in Halo 5 most likely, weapon attachments within a title that doesn’t seem to have any proof of attachment assets probably not likely.
It’s two different mechanics, best not to conflate them.

There is such a lack of new, quality content in Halo Infinite that players are literally salivating over the DMR simply because of a “rumor.”
The DMR/Bandit is rumored to be coming in Season 3… there is no date or time put on it… it is all speculation and gossip at the moment.
