It’s very minuscule, but if you load up Glacier in forge, go to the top, and fall at the right angle, your shields take damage

Yeah that’s been a theory as the proper way to get the “sayonara” medal as opposed to it being glitched. But I don’t think anyone has gone past theorizing and actually tested it.
There are also other places then glacier to get falldamage,however all of them I remmber have been fixed.
I’m not sure it can qualify as fall damage, I think it’s more like collision damage. Like when a warthog taps you and your shields fall a little.
But I’m being picky. The end result is yes, you can be damaged by falling lol.
