Seeing how it is obvious by this point that ONI wants the Master Chief dead (as in, KIA, not what Buck keeps asking Locke about, like how they’re going to bring them back, or what Locke has said multiple times about Osiris’ mission to ‘bring him back’ obviously alive) Osiris has been lied to by ONI.
My only question is, since Locke is going to try to do his usual diplomacy thing and try to talk Chief out of whatever he’s doing… who’s hunting Locke?

Sarah Palmer is hunting Locke while he’s hunting Chief. Towards the ending, you find out that she was secretly controlling Osiris to do her bidding with the phrase “eggheads”. She then betrays everybody and straps a bomb to Chief’s armour.
