There's a secret hidden on the new Waypoint

Upon examining the new Waypoint I noticed a few oddities that I thought were worth pointing out… Other than the bee icon for the bot as a reference to the I love bee’s thing back during halo 2, and it saying something about giving you a gift, there’s this weird number and chain code on the home page… Processing: what is this…PNG…, It reads 051311.01 then it’s followed by several dots. Idk if this is just the version of the new waypoint or something, maybe I’m dumb. but also the “bee bot” that messages you in what’s called “Greetings #2” by the website lists three wiki links to “death by coconut” “inherently funny words” and “Calculator Spelling” after that It then goes through basic instructions on how to basically do key functions such as italic’s, emojis, and how to “@” someone etc. At first I found it kind of strange for the forum to teach people basic head knowledge with online communication. after I finished the tutorial basics it told me it hid something in the tutorial and I need to search for “capybara” which already is a nod to the fact there familiar with hiding things. (Also we may remember the 2019 E3 trailer they hid Xbox live codes in Master Chief’s HUD startup) it then ends by giving you some certification… but I feel like there’s something here hidden…

If you find anything unusual or strange on the website put it here, there may be secrets to discover! With Halo Infinite about a month out I wouldn’t be surprised if they hide stuff in those live action trailers or this website etc. be vigilant!!

Good work! Am trying this myself. Note: there is a “capybara” as a rare animal to hunt in Shadow of the Tomb Raider (SoTR, built off of Tomb Raider reboot design by Tim Longo who was also creative director for Halo Infinite!). In SoTR, you have to go to a certain location and wait for a period of time - you’ll hear it breathing before it appears. Don’t know if that applies here, but worth a thought given Chief’s new Tomb Raider style grappling hook, map and silver magnum!

The capybara thing and the wiki links are just part of the Discourse tutorial, nothing to look into. I believe it’s the same for all instances of Discourse

I would have thought it normal for any forum to teach that stuff. Do others not do so? I had no idea about needing to use ‘@’ until I did that tutorial. Never would have occurred to me to have to do something like that to alert a user (or whatever the correct term is for doing that.

Do you happen to know if there is a way to make the tutorial ? I already have time on the server.

Send a message to the bot as per the reply that will appear after I post this:

@seeker display help

I currently know how to do the following things:

@seeker start {name-of-tutorial}

Starts an interactive tutorial just for you, in a personal message. {name-of-tutorial} can be one of: tutorial, advanced tutorial.

great easter eggs
:wink:
It will be an honor to be able to find or try to find those Easter eggs, thank you very much for this great detail, it has been a long time without someone making a player feel like that.

EDIT: I got a little too excited before reading the rest of the thread and looking into Discourse forum software myself, it does look its just standard operating brocedure here.

New ARG!? Possible Section 3, Tip of the Shadow challenges to come, could be laying the groundwork for something. Can you confirm @stckrboy ?

He says he can do 3 things. Am I supposed to copy and paste one of the things and reply to the bot and get a dice rolled dice :game_die: or get my fortune told ?:crystal_ball:

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @seeker display help.

Kind of reminds me of the Halo CE .fortune Easter egg.

@Seeker . fortune

Me likey stuff like this. It reminds me of something Bungie would’ve done back in the day.

@Annex_Angel when you got to the "capybara part type it into the search bar at the top you will then be taken to the beggining of the tutorial messages where there is a new gif of said animal eating. you need to reply to that gif with the emogi “: herb :” with no spaces between the semi colons. you are then rewarded a special badge for the forums and a certificate from seeker.

also if you type the 055311.01 # number into google one of the first relevant things youll find is a cosplay guide titled the same, still reviewing the guide to see if theres a trail…
