I hate these people who say stop “unnecessarily” “hating” 343i, Microsoft and Halo 5 and be appreciative for what we get. We either hate or criticise or hate them for a reason. We critisice in hopes for those incompetent idiots to listen to us and take notes. We hate because of what they did to our beloved franchise and how they treat the community. I defended them back in Halo 4 and MCC, but I can’t watch my favorite video game burn into ashes. I really want to like Halo 5, I loved the trailers, I love the Forge (that came after 2 or 3 months of release), I love the mechanics, I love breakout. But about everything else is a mess or a -Yoink-.
They aren’t listening to the community. Don’t use excuses such as they brought Infection, FF, Griffball, Forge, BTB etc. These are all day-1-content that have been around since release for every other game since the last 15 years. What do you those people who played mainly one of these modes did once they payed 60 bucks upon release? Wait and hope they ever release it. Better late than never, right? These gamemodes aren’t even great with 343’s mishandling. BTB? 1 or 2 months for a mode they don’t even support or just threw it into trash. They ruined a fan favorite gamemode that grew from the original seeds and roots of Halo. Griffball? 5 months, still no proper support and was nearly removed once. Infection? 7 months for a mode that feels repetitive with it’s lack of maps. Warzone Firefight? Like 8 months to wait for and is broken af. YOU HAD 8 MONTHS, AND A BETA AND IT DOESN’T WORK PROPERLY. The beta worked much better than the actual thing we received… Oh wait, that can also be said for Halo 5. And guess what? We still don’t have proper content! Where is Action Sack? Where is King of The Hill? Where is Oddball? Where are some of Halo 4’s gamemodes? Spartan Ops? You ditched that too? 3 years plus four months and that’s all -Yoink-.
If they’re listening, why haven’t they improved the -Yoinking!- UI yet? Or the servers? 8 months for an air vehicle we’ve been asking for like 4 years now? Classic Playlists? Fixing the theater mode that ONLY got WORSE as the updates came in? Why doesn’t the microtransaction system work properly? If you’re going to implement a feature that no one wants at least make it work properly. Why doesn’t MCC work yet? The #SaveMCC has been everywhere? No way they didn’t hear that!
Let’s not forget the campaign! Worst story as of yet. -Yoink- characters, -Yoink- villains, -Yoink- events only to make such amazing trailers come out as misleading and deceptive. They ruined the original and awesome characters and made -Yoink- new ones who all had amazing potential.
- Master Chief: From Halo 1-3, Chief was only a simple static character and a badass, who had epic one liners. While not having much, he was likeable. In Halo 4, they kept the original roots, made him a dynamic character and a badass character in the same time with added dialogue that were necessary for the character. But nah, -Yoink- that! Let’s remove both those attributes in Halo 5 and make him neither dynamic or badass. Don’t say he was still badass. All he said was spew out exposition, go after Cortana and get captured like a dog only to be saved by Locke, a newly made character who did much better job in Halo 5 than Chief. - Cortana: -Yoink- that emotional and impactful ending in Halo 4, erase everything and make her come back! Not just come back, but come back as a villain using a -Yoink- comic plot point. From a loveable character to a hate-able one. - Buck: Yeah, turn the awesome character in ODST who says stuff that never impact the story and just come out as “wtf” or random. - Lasky: Entirely forgot his presence in Halo 5. - Arbiter: Only reason for his appearance is fanservice and yet he acts nothing like the Arbiter we know. - Blue Team: Exposition machine. And it all ends in a unearned cliffhanger that left me unoptmistic knowing the plot is gonna be about the generic sci-fi Human vs AI BS.
If you’re gonna sit your -Yoink- doing nothing as they release Halo 6 which will contain 3 playlists, no splitscreen, a 20 mission campaign that actually only lasts 2 hours where Chief is killed first level, then revived with Librarian balls so he can magically shoot Cortana in the face with a pistol and where the Warden is revealed to Seargant Johnson aiding Guilty Spark, then okay, do that and watch as the franchise burns.
