There's a law for RNG

So China has made a new law regarding the RNG/loot drop system. I wanted to put this on the halo 5 forums but then remembered that halo wars 2 also has an RNG/loot drop system so I decided to put it in this forum page. Here’s a link to a video talking about this new law (Note: the title says CoD, Overwatch, CSGO, BF1, and LoL but those are just examples)

Don’t know what question you’re talking about but sure. Basically all companies have to say the % of the likelyhood for an item to drop. The video that I linked talks about this new law if you want an in-depth understanding.

Huh, you’d think the Chinese government would have more pressing matters to deal with.

You’d think that, but considering that this is the same country that banned video game consoles from 2000 until 2015, I don’t think it’s too weird.

Huh interesting

Aside from the MCC has any other Halo title launched in China?

I don’t know

Although the American government wastes plenty of time, I’m glad they’re not worried about passing a law about this yet. I’m sure it would be something the state of California would look into though.

I don’t think the law is a bad idea. Casinos that use electronic slot machines, must publish the code going into making the machine, so the public can view that it is fair. Verifying the drop rates in purchasable RNG packs seems like a reasonable requirement so companies can’t advertise unattainable drops.

And this has to do with other gamers how exactly?

I think that Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike might be available in China due to being available on the iOS platform, but I believe Halo 5 would have been the first Halo console game to officially launch in China, owing to the 15-year console game ban that I mentioned previously.

It gives transparency on how rare a mythic legendary armor is (like helioskrill for example) or the likelyhood of getting a Phaton helios req card in a gold pack.

But where’s the fun in the surprise then? Part of why I like req packs is because I don’t know how likely it is I’ll get the thing I want, or if I’ll get the thing I want. It’s all in the surprise.

It’s something that I like to call the casino effect. Where people spend all the money they have until they get the specific item they want, leaving them to become broke. This is something very dangerous as that will lead them to addiction just like a casino (hence the name the casino effect). Yes you can get everything through tge REQ point, but then you have those people who just wast money on the REQ packs.
