There's a difference between giving feedback......

…And telling someone what to do. What most of you are doing is trying to tell 343 how Halo 4 should be made. 343 are professionals, they created these forums for our ideas and feedback, not for telling them how their work should be done. How would you like it if you were drawing something, and someone said,“No, no, no! you’re doing it wrong! This is awful, let ME show you how it’s supposed to be.” How would you feel?

For those bashing on others ideas, why? Just because they like something from another game that they want implemented in Halo, and you don’t like it doesn’t mean that it’s bad. Just to let you all know: just about every game in existence borrows some feature or mechanic from another game. Why is it that all of these other games can do so, but Halo can’t? It’s because you all wan’t Halo to stay unique, right? Just because someone wants Halo to have throwing knives, doesn’t mean that it robs Halo of being unique. Also, just because it’s from CoD, doesn’t mean it’s immediately bad. Before you say something, I HAVE seen ideas that I DON’T agree with, just to get that out of the way. I understand wanting to keep the CORE GAMEPLAY the same, I get that, but bashing someone because of a POSSIBLE new mechanic that wouldn’t affect THE CORE EXPERIENCE? Really?

Now we move onto the subject of something being “gimmicky”. On just about EVERY thread I’ve seen regarding a new feature or mechanic, someone ALWAYS says, “This is incredibly stupid and gimmicky, and it doesn’t work with Halo’s gameplay”. So for all of the people who do so on every one of those threads, what new mechanic or feature WOULD work with Halo’s gameplay?

I made this thread just to show that there is a boundary between giving feedback, and telling someone, “How it should be done.” Thanks to all of those who read the whole thing. I’m willing to take feedback. Thanks!

I don’t think anyone is telling them what to do.

Most of us are just making suggestions on what not to do.

We’re using reach as a template of what not to do.

Agreed.

^Exactly.

We can’t give feedback on a product we literally know nothing about. So, for the time being, this place is just reserved for ideas. People here are telling others their “ideas”. Some may sound forceful, but that’s OK. It’s still just their idea. If you choose to interpret that as “telling 343 what to do” that’s your fault.

> This is why people laugh at the Halo community, were so close minded.

In every gaming community there’s a few people who like to say things like this. Funny.

It’s the fact that people are still bringing these things up after months of complaining,
it’s just getting redundant, they know that you all hate Reach already.

I’m not sure if I made it clear in the OP, if so I’m sorry, but the people I’m talking about are the ones that are saying, “No AA’s, bring back dual wielding, Halo doesn’t need anything new”, and such. The fact is that people are Unnecessarily being forceful, when they could say it in another manner that’s not as forceful. 343 ARE pros as stated in the OP, but people are CONSTANTLY telling 343 what NOT do do from Reach after months of complaining, and telling 343 what they SHOULD bring back and what Halo SHOULD be like. They have their own ideas as well.

I just think aiming down the sights shouldn’t be in Halo. Especially when it’s faulted by “auto-snapping” that makes all sniper shots seem impressive but really aren’t.

Although if you were to ask me how I would take the franchise from Halo4+ I would lean it towards being a FPA (First Person Adventure). If it’s just gonna be another run-and-gun against Covenant or the Flood then there really is no point.

Starts clapping

Thank you for being open-minded. These forums have went downhill ever since the B.net forums got shut down. Halo needs to innovate, and it will innovate. I honestly don’t understand how people can expect another Halo CE or Halo 2. Halo has changed. Gaming has changed. The same gameplay features won’t feel right today.

Thanks!

i’m with zippingfilly, people are trying to tell 343i what should be done and then saying “just giving ideas” and when someone comes along to try and discuss of it is a bad idea they ignore them or attack, if it was giving idea’s then they would be open to discussion.

Well if it sounds like something that CoD would do then keep it in CoD. Halo was built on a triangle. Melee-Guns-Grenade, oh and if Counter-strike can stay the same for essentially 20 years. why cant Halo? this is just butt hurt CoD fanboys saying that halo should be more like CoD. NO

Flaw: Vehicles and Equipment/ Armor Abilities. This “golden triangle” people speak of doesn’t exist, and hasn’t existed since Halo: C.E.

I’m assuming this “Reach Defense Force” is something you made up.

vehicles go under weapons, equipment and armour abilities sit in the center since they are just -Yoink!-(spelling…?).

vehicles and powerups where in halo combat evolved so if this triangle doesn’t exist because of the reasons you had mentioned then it never had existed in the first place, but yet, you said it hasn’t been since combat evolved meaning combat evolved did while the other halo’s didn’t.

abit contradictory…

i wasn’t aware that liking a game was a crime…?[
