There'll be less MasterChief in HALO 6. Here's why

MONEY.
Like actors, voice actors can command a high salary after several iterations of commercial success. At some point, it becomes too cost prohibitive (i.e. expensive) to keep using the same voice actor.
THAT is why Locke was used more in the HALO 5 campaign than MasterChief. Locke’s voice actor costs less. He’s relatively newer to the HALO franchise than MasterChief.
That is also why Roland was introduced to HALO as well. Cortana’s voice actor earns much more money than Roland’s.

Lmao doubt it.

yeah…about that. you are wrong.

No. Just, no.

No Chief = No Halo.

You’ll see.

And then you can remember that I told you first right here.

The guy who plays the master chief has retired so lets hope he actually comes back for halo 6!

Uhm, no. Just No. If you watched the launch event stuff you’d realize the actual reason why we’ll see less of Master Chief going forward. Steve Downes, MC’s voice actor, retired.

From RADIO. Not VO.

Aluhat is burning. Are you limited?

I’m not sure what to think

You’re just throwing around accusations without backing them up.

Even if there ends up being less MC in the next game, you can’t prove that it’s because they didn’t want to keep paying the voice actor. So you’re just throwing out accusations like a paranoid person.

It’s like saying someone is guilty of a murder in the future just because you thought of a possible hypothetical motive.

I’d love to hear how much you think they are paying voice actors in Halo 5.

Let me tell you why that’s BS:

Locke Voice Actor: Ike Amadi. 28 roles. Various games.
Master Chief Voice Actor: Steve Downes. 8 roles. 6 of which were Halo games.
Buck is played by Nathan Fillion and The Arbiter is Keith David… I’m almost 100% sure that the highest paid voice actors in the franchise have supporting roles.

No offense, but Chief doesn’t have anything else to do.

To everyone saying that Steve Downes retired, if that is the case, then they’ll just hire someone else and digitally edit their voice. IDK maybe, Nolan North I hear he’s always down for another voice over.

343i have tens of millions for ad campaigns and to make the game but can’t afford to keep Steve Downes as a voice actor? They’re gonna change the whole foundation of the game around that?
You sure about that man? LOL

Also, if they introduce Roland because Cortana’s voice actor costs too much, why would they bring Halsey in too? She is voiced by Jen Taylor just like Cortana.
Edit: Locke was going to be voiced by Colter himself, but wasn’t available because he was filming something for Marvel at the time, so he had to be replaced.

Just because a VO actor retires, that doesn’t mean the character has to go away or die. There are plenty of other VO actors that can and will fill the role when the time comes.

For example: The Joker voiced by Mark Hamill and Troy Baker. Almost impossible to tell them apart.

> On February 6 2015, Downes announced that after 44 years in radio he would retire to spend more time with his family; his final show on WDRV was March 9, 2015. He will be succeeded by veteran sports/talk radio hosts Dan McNeil and Pete McMurray.

He retired from radio, if he actually retired as the voice of Master Chief I think there would have been a LOT more fanfare at the launch of Halo 5, not to mention an official announcement.

When an actor “retires” from a role or show, it’s a euphemism that indicates contract negotiations were unsuccessful and both parties couldn’t agree to a mutually satisfactory compensation figure.

Now, the voice actor for Locke will carry the mantle in HALO.

No.

OP has point BUT…the MC is an icon and a system seller. MS seen as people now really seem to dislike Locke will definitely shell the money for his VA in halo 6. Also, Cortana has far more lines than Roland in H5 and she will be very present in halo 6
