There you have it, proof that models are being replaced.

In the “Grunt Funeral” video you can clearly see that the correct AR is in use.

Which is a good thing, well…IMO.

yeah i noticed that in the trailer, now i like to see them use the original halo ring i’m just not use to the one they had in the anniversary trailer

The origninal Halo was probably between 50 to a 100 polygons, which is ridiculously low, especially by today’s standards. I actually like the new ring more, aside from how cool it is to see detail in the landscape, the fins you see coming off it actually give it more of a sci-fi and Forerunner look, at least that’s my opinion of it.

It’s funny, though, how much uglier the Pistol and Assault Rifle look in that little 52 second preview. The textures are horrible compared to the assets ripped from Reach.

they replaced the Reach Pistol as well.

I hope they do the same thing with Master Chief too.

do you really expect that it’s graphical level compete with Reach?!

That was probably one of the placeholder items that bsangel was talking about in her post the other day. =)

Also, the thread title makes it seem as a bad thing. =P

Anniversary is newer than Reach, so yes.

The game still has a bit while to go before release. They could still be working on final textures to add to the AR.

> I hope they do the same thing with Master Chief too.

they have already stated that the MC in the trailer is a work in progress.

Anniversary engine is the old halo 1 engine of 10 years ago, with just a graphical layer on top of it. actually it’s a remastered version, it can never compete with Reach’s graphics by no means. and it’s an unfinished game yet too.

Um, the “new graphics engine” that’s on top of the classic Halo CE engine is Reach’s, which is why in the E3 Trailer they had Reach models, they wasn’t “riping” reach models, it’s more of, they’re using the models already in the Reach engine until they could put new ones in.

I knew it!!! i havent giggled like a little girl in ages! I knew that what angel was implying. Now i wonder if they will correct the marines. Im almost certain that of all people, 343i will correct them as well.

Yup, they used models that still looked good before the new ones were done. =)

The shadows look better in Anniersary than in Reach.

StartFragment At 00:01:16 In the Halo Anniversary Trailer you can see the CO-OP Spartan is in Reach Mark V armor although the Colors are slightly different than what is available in the Reach Armory at the moment and the Mark V shoulder pads seem more interrogated in to the rest of the armor and less modular.

(just look at the keens @ 00:01:16 they are the pointy Para keen from Reach. Yet @ 00:01:22 of the Halo: Anniversary Exclusive video they are the Classic CE smooth and or rounded keens!)
StartFragment In the frame @ 00:01:16 you can see that Player 1 is holding the Reach AR modal.
As we have already established in the Halo Anniversary Exclusive Pre-Order Grunt Funeral Skull video we can see the Pre-Reach AR model.
So that makes me think that there is probably a setting in Halo: CEA that lets us switch between Classic Pre-Reach Modals and the contemporary Reach style models (maybe another new Skull)

Which is Sweeeeeet! (Plus the Magnums in the HCEA Trailer & Exclusive videos look like the same as the ones from Reach where as the Magnum in the Grunt funeral skull video is blocky & less detailed)
I don’t think 343i would change back to Pre-Reach graphics after all the effort of re-releasing the Original halo Novel Trilogy with new Covers showing the reach AR EndFragment EndFragment

well I know that, but the base engine of the game is the old one. I hope it looks as good as Reach, but as far as we’ve seen it doesn’t. we’ll just wait and see the final results.

Saw that too, glad they were place holders.
