See the dlc, War Games Map Pass Season One
Is this old news? I haven’t seen this posted or discussed before.

We don’t know for sure… Anyone remember what month they scheduled the last map pack to come out? Do you really think 343 won’t give us more dlc after that?

My thoughts exactly. The more dlc the better, as long as the maps are good quality.
And I don’t want Halo 4 to get the same treatment Gears 3 got, pretty much no support after the 4 DLCs came out…
I think the Season 1 comment has to do with the first Season of Spartan Ops. We still don’t know if we’ll get any extra Achievements for S. Ops or not. It just leaves a potential for Season 2 to be added later.
Of course their is going to be another season pass. 343 is releasing all the DLC within a half year after Halo 4 releases. If they stopped putting out map DLC after that the game would just die.

All the GoW3 DLCs were really good though.

Not to mention the fact that Epic aren’t jerks and they actually release 5 maps at a time and some free maps here and their. To bad I’m not a bigger fan of Gears to truly appreciate it. Boy do I wish 343/-Yoink!- would surprise us with free maps here and their… A man can dream right?

Ummm no. First season of SpOps is free with the game. That war games map pass season one is for the 4 map packs that have 3 maps each. And it comes with the LE.
I think there will be 5 seasons for SpOps with 10 episodes in one. Or 10 seasons with 5 episodes, can’t remember exactly…
And yes, the DLCs for Gears 3 were great, expect Horde Command Pack, because I don’t really play Horde that much and the content was on te disc…I played the mp a lot, gow3 was pretty much my main mp game after it got released. Got the gold wings and War Hero etc.
Lately I have played Reach to get back in to the Halo feel so I don’t get poop’d on when I start playing Halo 4. Don’t want my precious k/d to get ruined instantly lol

GoW 3 DLCs were 1200 MPS, not 800, also, Bungie gave us Cold Storage.
Horde Command Pack and Fenix Risin were 800msp. RAAMs Shadow was 1200msp, can’t remember whether Forces of Nature was 800 or 1200 because I had the season pass so I didn’t have to worry about the prices…
Also we got one free map pack. And that was so the players who didn’t buy HCP could play online in the same playlists and also possibly because of the whole “HCP was on disc” hassle, that caused rage on the epic forums…

I’d pay more to get more… Bungie was lucky that -Yoink!- let them do that. Epic released like what 5 free maps for Gears 3? Not to mention the 5 maps in the DLC that came with new copies of the game.
343 and all devs should do what epic did with the first map pack. Buy the maps to get the achievements and (in Halo’s case) the ability to forge on those maps and do customs on those maps. If you don’t buy the maps you get a booster DLC a month after the pack releases that would allow you to play the maps in matchmaking but not obtain any sort of unlocks associated with them. Don’t think I’m the type of person that doesn’t buy maps either. I purchase every map pack for every game I enjoy. I just know a ton of people that just say… hmmm I don’t play this game constantly so w/e and never even consider buying the DLC. It would be a nice way for everyone (specifically the purchasers of the DLC) to be able to find matches on DLC maps.

More maps ontop of the 9 seems likely, and Season 2 of Spartan Ops also seems likely as a download.

probably this because 343 never said anything about a season. i don’t think they’ll release more then 3 map packs. halo 3 and reach both had only 3 map packs.
Season One = Packs 1, 2 and 3?
Then a Season Two with Packs 4, 5 and 6, perhaps.
If they’re releasing 3 map packs in the first 5 months we can expect a lot of DLC before Halo 5.

Halo 3 had 4 - Heroic, Legendary, Mythic I and Mythic II.
And Reach… Ugh, 3 map packs in 2 YEARS. That is far too long. I am so glad we’re getting 3 in 5 months.
