There should be two playmodes, casual and comp

I am not talking like how it currently is where We have standard and comp but having them split a bit better.

CASUAL
playlists: most game modes
start weapon: AR
match making: Loose ( SBMM loosened heavily or disabled completely depending on mode. example BTB would have it completely disabled.)

COMP
Playlists: Team based (BTB, standard)
start weapon: BR
ranked: in all modes
match making: Strict SBMM (current system)

When events come out a casual and comp event would happen each different but the same for challanges.

Example Yappening

Casual
BTB: fiesta activated in standard mode (yappened)
Slayer: Kong slayer activated
FFA: KING KONG (FFA king of hill with kong slayer load outs.)

COMP
BTB: Varriants activated (all weapons on map are their varriant version)
Tack slayer: Grunts (you are grunts, you have sidekicks good luck)
Slayer: Noob combo, You have a plasma pistol and a sidekick

Comp would allways have the more skill based modes while casual would have the more well you can screw around and still do well modes.

The only exception is things like Race and infection which whould appear in both.

Now I don’t believe all modes should be up at all times in the offical list once a customs browser is added but there should be a good rotation and split.

Also the split would allow for some other things, like having kig-yar, Elites, and brutes as cores that are banned in Comp but open in casual.

If you want an actual casual experience, you should be asking for custom game browser more then anything. You don’t get more casual then that, since it’s the people who create the servers that set the rules, not 343i.

your suggestions just take away from options that we have currently and nothing more honestly… Remember that social is for everyone, competitive players included. Some people actually like starting with different weapons other then the Assault Rifle / Pistol combo for instance, and not just Battle Rifles too bare in mind.

I also don’t want to be facing people well above or below me in terms of skill, since both of those situations aren’t fun either. Being stomped into the ground or stomping people who are clearly new to the game aren’t fun either for most people.

In the post I recommend that as well, as it is needed.

What I find to be the saddest thing about Infinite is that because the game lacks so many basic features or modes that we know and love from years prior, that we pretty much never suggest any new ideas or go for really cool and ambitious modes. When will Infinite get Warzone 2.0? Invasion? Battle Royale? PvE at all? Again, such a boring conversation around so little. We need some ambitious ideas for Halo.

There are so many Ambitious ideas but sadly we need foundation before structure.

Those are just words. If 343i came out with something new and exciting, something that was popular and successful, it would be the foundation of what they do going forward.

343i is struggling so hard to put basic launch features into the game (a year after launch) that basically any kind of actual innovation or cool new experience is just swept under the rug, even if Infinite did last 10 years (its highly unlikely to at ths point, but for the sake of the argument) it would just be like 3-5 years of them making a proper Halo game and then after those 5 years they’d start branching out into other areas lol.
