An idea that’s been floating around my head for a while now. Why not implement a store in-game where people can directly purchase cosmetic items? (Armour, visors, emblems and such), like the system Reach had.
It would hardly be unbalanced, if the pricing on items was done correctly. I would expect my Mythic armours to cost in the hundreds of thousands of RP, if not millions, to unlock. Not only that, but there is also the offset of losing out on Warzone powerups.
Really, a kind of ‘black-market’ is something that would fit perfectly in the game, and allow people to work for something they know they will get as opposed to relying on luck.
Also, I noted cosmetics for a reason. I don’t think giving everyone the ability to purchase fifty Prophet’s Banes is particularly balanced, unless artifically capped in some way.
It won’t happen because it’s not as profitable. Why let someone buy their favorite armor for 5 dollars when they have to spend 30 to unlock it now. They literally have a $100 gold pack right now. Noone would buy that if they could just buy what they want.

It’s a $100 (or £64.99, but whatever) bundle containing a bunch of gold packs. Personally, I find the idea that enough people were spending that much money in one sitting to justify the existence of that large a bundle to be disgusting.
However, you should notice I never mentioned actual money. I would always assume that such transactions (IE buying armour)would be earned; not bought with IRL money. If you were going to buy COPPERHEAD (<3), ypu should still be putting in the time necessary to earn it via playing and earning REQ points. We did it in Reach, I see no reason why I wouldn’t do it now. Furthermore, it’s not exactly lost sales; I have not and will not spend actual money on in-game item drops (aside from that £5 giftcard I got for a friend’s birthday) so it’s hardly a lost sale from me.

The only way I could envision the Warzone items being done fairly is in a kind of ‘deals of the day’ system (ala Titanfall) in which it randomly picks five or however many random weapons/ vehicles/ boosts and for that day only, you can buy each of those items separately. It still retains the element of randomness that they’re obviously going for, but also allows a slim possibility to get higher-tier weapons directly. Again, for an increased price.
If, however, in this system a binary rifle (for example) showed up, you’d have that day to buy it. Miss it and it’s gone unless RNGesus grants you a lucky roll of the dice. If ypu buy it, then you’ve bought it for that day and you can’t buy another.
This I could see working, though pricing of weapons and such would have to be carefully tuned.
