There are at least two kinds of Halo players: those who play all the time and are really, really good – and those that play for fun on a limited time allotment (and may not be as good).
I speak for a lot of us in the 2nd group when I say the new Firefight mode – thanks for making it, BTW – is too difficult. Yes, we want a challenge, but somewhere between the easiness of the beta and this would be nice. I know I will get flak for this (“why don’t you just get better?”), but it doesn’t seem too much of a stretch to divide Firefight into two groups: those who want the challenge of the current difficulty level, playing together as a team, and those lone wolf types who have a half hour to play and don’t want to spend it being slaughtered by an insane number of enemies. By all means, make the REQ rewards less for those who play the casual mode. Give the players most interested in a higher difficulty a reward for their time and skill. But leave a mode for the casual fan who wants a challenge, but maybe not the brutality of the Warden Eternal damage sponge.
P.S. I know 343 gets a lot of crap on these boards, but I think they’ve done an amazing job post-launch. I’ve never played a Halo game this long (been playing since the first), but 343 consistently offers new things to do, new modes to play, new maps to play on, new vehicles to try. And they’ve done it for free. Just wanted to say thanks for that.

Not an unreasonable request, OP. I personally prefer the harder difficulty of the current Firefight, but I don’t think there’d be too much harm in making one playlist simply called “Firefight” for those that want to just slaughter some alien scum (with lower rp and xp rewards), and rename the current Firefight playlist “Legendary Firefight” or “Mythic Firefight” (and maybe bump the rp and xp rewards a bit).

Well, it obviously depends on what tasks are assigned. I’ve seen some that are easy – but several that are impossible unless you have a 8-person team in communication. Speaking as a lone wolf player, I’m never going to have that.

Haha. You guys know we can see your game history right? I agree with OP, I like a challenge but being forced to use your best reqs just to even have a chance isn’t fun. Some objectives are nearly impossible even then. Getting frustrated due to bullet sponge bosses and bad spawns gets old just as fast as having it be too easy.

Or failing in the final round because the boss is holed up in a place vehicles can’t reach-- but they take so much damage that conventional arms won’t hurt them.
