I have some good and bad gaming periods.
Sometimes I just blast every match with 25-30 kills and 3-5 deaths. Sometimes I just get 0-1 kills and 15-20 deaths.
But about what you mentioned with challenges, I agree with you! They definetively should remove the ‘pvp’ in the challenges so people can get their challenges in bot bootcamp. But I know they want players to spend their money on challenge swaps, so they intentionally give players trash challenges so they start using money.
It’s all about the green paper and not your Halo experience.
I’d be curious to know how much they make off of swaps. I’ve bought two packs (so four swaps) early in S1 because I had 400 credits and I wanted the XP boosts.
I have 40 of them now.
In 8 years of experience I only got 22 kills-15 deaths
I played a match of Fiesta and there was one player on the opposing side, not good at all, but man it took a lot to kill him, he had major enhanced shielding, and it did seem very suspicious, fortunately, he was a crap player. I have scored 15 or more kills, 1 or 2 deaths, or no deaths at all, just got lucky, it happens. BUT there are some players …
I got 39 kills and 5 deaths the other day.
I’m not good, it’s just the other team weren’t good either and I played tactically by selecting ranged weapons and not venturing too far away from my team.
It’s possible for sure, but not every single game.
Same here, its probably server adventage, not cheating. Auto aim and auto reload is cheating.
The ones you need to worry about are the ones with +90% accuracy and the vast majority of their kills are headshots…However thats not always the case lol i played against a streamer named UberNick not realizing who he was and I just assumed he was cheating, turns out he’s just incredible lol
I regularly go 15-20:1 in btb, and I’m certainly NOT a cheater.
I don’t think there’s that many cheaters. With all the youtubers making tutorials, overall players are getting better. I used to just play like I had for years, then at some point during H5. I had 2 games that I got completely shut out in, Team Slayer 0 kills - 14+ deaths. Thats when I started watching tutorials. I didn’t even know what a drop slide was at the time. Nobody makes manuals with all the tips anymore.
Even with this I feel like I can tell when I’m matched with a PC player. They move differently, straffing, nadeing, spinning around. They seem to have different imput response speeds. I play on series X with Xbox one controller from walmart. I’ve tried adjusting my settings but still can’t seem to get the same crisp direction shift.
What game mode?
It’s easiest to do in SWAT, but I’ve had a few matches in basic Team Slayer where I know I had the other team saying the same thing you did. Not only in Infinite, but many other Halo titles and games as well.
It’s very doable, but also not always achievable. It’s better to expect to do average and be surprised by the outstanding matches when they happen.
In a match I did 29 - 1
It’s possible, there are some many factors you rise like that.
1st: have the best weapon and a weapon of your preference.
2nd: good performance with any weapon.
3rd: play a respective game mode where people just focus on win while you focus on kills (Odd Ball)
4th: while they focusing on get the ball, control the ball killing everyone. They are just like stupid bees to the skull they won’t kill just get the ball and make points.
I assure you, you can get high kills too.
5th: Play as your maximum.
And lastly which is mostly important!
6th: luck
If you don’t believe me

You just need practice son, you’re a Spartan remember? If I could, you can do it too.
Just Slay, Spray and Pray
Sorry bud but people are that good. i played a 3v4 ranked game of slayer this week. Went 32 and 2. and we won. Some players just aren’t good. if you’re playing in gold lobbies i’m sorry you’re near the bottom of the skill pool. silvers are the scrubs of the scrubs, golds are below average level players, plats are the average consumer, diamond are the advanced players, and onyx are just absolute predators hahaha. You just have to accept not everyone that clobbers you is a cheater.
I got a 31 once in Fiesta. I’m usually a horrible player.
Had a game of Land Grab last week where I had 15 kills 0 deaths and 9 captures. Literally said out loud to my teammate well I’m getting reported for cheating lol
I honestly think a lot of it comes down to random server advantage.
Everyone has their moments of ups and downs. I am a low diamond player and get those kinds of games maybe 1/20 games, 1/30 in ranked maybe. I often match with Onyx players and get wrecked most of the time, but I have spanked some Onyx players on a few occasions too. Everyone has bad games, but a lot of players have anomaly type games as well.
The skill gap between ranks exponential the higher you go though. For example, Gold and Platinum’s skill gap is reasonable. But, Gold vs Diamond is really no comparison. 1600+ Onyx is a god tier of its own and they can wreck 99% of players 99% of the time. According to last season, >65% of players fell within the Gold/Platinum category and <15% were diamond and Onyx. If you end up having someone drop a >20 kill/<5 death game on you, just consider that you probably just got screwed and matched with a rare player or someone is just having a good game at that time.
it can happen pretty often if a high Diamond or Oynx player gets dumped into a lower rank lobby, generally around mid day when the severs populations are low. I have had runs before when I go 15+ kills with only a death or 2, but than the SBMM smacks me back into my place
I don’t play competitive matches, I consider myself an Average player too but I have seen that there are some factors if you allow me to say it.
Good connection, good day, luck, a good weapon most suitable for you, good skills or playing with newbie players, no offense but, yeah, sometimes I can turn a match when we are losing of 20/30 just killing with sword, hammer, BR or rocket launcher.
But yes, I agree, there would be days that you are so Average and you do a great number of kills and when you are competitive you do like 7/16 haha something like that?
We all had our days xD
Given that the game is free-to-play multiplayer, you are going to get a lot of newbie players flooding in that have no experience with Halo. Which means that the amount of times you encounter sub-par players will be astonishingly high as they are flooding the population as a whole; ergo you might have easy-to-pick-off teammates.
And around~20 kills with only around~5 deaths is me on a good day.
Which means you are going to HATE to learn that I was responsible for 36 kills in one match with only 4 deaths.
So no, not always a cheater responsible for this kind of outcome.
Skill x “L” (where L stands for RNG Luck of multiple other factors of the match) = very positive KD.
I could have a game I go 22-1 as easily as I have a game where I go 1-15. The games very wonky atm and you can feel when you’re near invincible and all your bullets are magically landing then the next day you feel like you’ve never played a halo game in your life and it feels like you can’t land that killing shot no matter how much bullets you pump into someone.
Its not really satisfying being at either end of the specturm. The only thing that can circumvent when you’re feeling you’re playing really bad is to go into a support role and just do damage and make pings on the map nonstop
