There’s a difference between acknowledging reality and defending 343’s practice

By playing the game you’re still inadvertently supporting it. You’re giving the game a player base and allowing other people the chance to spend money on it.

You have to remember free to play games make the majority of their money off whales. By playing the game and giving it an active player base you’re also supporting those whales. The absolute BEST thing you can do as an individual is abstain from playing the game entirely. There is no other way to get 343/Microsoft to listen.

Well that might be true, fair enough. Though I don’t know how many whales Infinite has or might have.

The next question is, if those whales would stop playing the game any time soon since they’ve spent so much already.

Also, you’ll probably have a harder time convincing people to completely refuse to play a game they generally like compared to making them not spending money on useless items for that game.
Small change is easier than a big one, I think.

I’ve uninstalled the game. Hopefully they just get to work on Halo 7 in a new engine that isn’t dogwater.

In the meantime, these are the games on my radar that I’m going to get in the very near future, all of which will be far better than Infinite:

The Callisto Protocol
One Piece Odyssey
Six Days in Fallujah
Psychonauts 2
Persona 5 Royal
Atomic Heart
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

Six days in Fallujah seems awesome. Thats one I’m definitely hoping to get soon. Have you heard of that SWAT simulation game? It looked kind of similar but obviously with SWAT and not military. I cant remember the name, but i’ll do some lookin

Edit: its called Ready or Not. Looked amazing on early access

I’ve commented on a few different posts since a few months after the game came out. At first voicing concerns, then a little later frustrations, then finally straight up admonishment of 343’s handling of everything at this point. I want to be very clear with what I say next, so that there can be no misinterpretation, no naive fanboys or trolls trying to poke holes or be contrarian nuisances, I want this to be understood clearly, so that the sensible members of this community can understand what is truly needed for this game at this point and maybe, maybe somehow we can get this across to 343 and sooner than later it can be fixed.

The issue right now, and I used the singular for a reason, is not events, it’s not maps or content, and it certainly is not anything to do with cosmetics or rewards or any of those tertiary distractions. It’s simply the playability and functionality of this game. I’ve played every halo game for the last 20 years, extensively. I’ve also played dozens of other top tier multiplayer games as well in that time. No game is perfect, all have flaws in designs, server issues, game mechanic issues, etc. Some have been worse than others, but in this current age, with the time and resources 343 had to make this game, there are no excuses for its current state and there certainly are no excuses for the decisions they are making when these issues are still present.

Campaign coop won’t save this game, nor will new maps, nor battle pass event nonsense. These things won’t rectify the issues that I experience in nearly every MP match I play, wherein I am 2 shot, my grenades explode on peoples direct body’s to little effect, my sticks bounce off or go through people, rockets are utterly inconsistent at best and melees might as well not even be attempted and half of my deaths are when I’m well behind cover. That’s a short list and if you play this game enough and are at a skill level of average or above, you don’t need me to explain further, you know how the game should perform. It’s not just widespread at this point, it’s the norm, it’s so common and prevalent that I consider the game to be unplayable. I stopped playing for a bit, came back to try again and honestly it’s worse now. It’s now been shelved for good, I simply cannot support a game that is this broken, with a developer who seems to be actively ignoring the truly important issues. Desync, server issues, lag, gameplay mechanics, I don’t care what people call them or the technically correct way to label them, the game does not play correctly way more often than not…it’s as simple as that.

Coming up on a year now and still this issue that should never have been present anywhere near to this extent is still raging onwards….it’s simply abhorrent. It makes me so angry when I see the posts about cosmetics or the battle pass or literally anything other than fixing the major, truly important and should be the number one priority for 343, of fixing the games broken mechanics. At its core, the game is awesome, sans desync, sans free to play nonsense, they have a great foundation, but they built it on loose sand and seemingly have no plans of fixing that anytime soon (maybe not ever).

The thing I always come back to in my mind is this: I have no idea if I’m even decent at this game any longer. If I’m being 2 shot, if my nades don’t damage people when they explode directly on them, or my melees with a resounding thud in peoples back don’t count as an assassination (or worse yet don’t even register on their side), then it stands to reason that when I have good plays, when I outshoot two people in a 2 on 1 fight against me and “out BR” them both for the double kill….did I actually earn that? Or was this game simply not working correctly for them in that moment, and for me in that moment it did not have any issue. Its broken to the point where you can’t even truly tell (at least not consistently) at a certain skill level and above if you truly beat or outplayed someone. That’s not a game I can justify playing at this point. I was excited for this game ever since it was announced, and to say that my bubble has been burst and the excitement has been killed, would be an understatement.

No more defending the makers, no more excuses, it’s a simple consumer based world we live in when you boil it down. Either someone made something that works and is viable, or they didn’t. If they didn’t, they can then fix it (promptly and appropriately) or let it drag on and go the route of either apathy or ineptitude….there is no middle. Trying is fine, unless you keep doing it with no positive results…then it’s failure. At this point their focus is scattered at best and this free to play nonsense has muddied the once pure waters of this amazing series. It’s just, truly a shame…

Please use some paragraphs. Very few people want to read a wall of text

I added paragraphs, however, it reads the same and reading it is voluntary with or without separations.

You whining and telling people to stop complaining because is worthless, we’ll complain anyways. If you dont like it dont get on the forum, continuing to do so would be like going to a restaraunt you dont like.

Oof, and here you are, guilty of complaining about me being on the forums complaining about people complaining. Funny how that works isnt it? Or maybe what youre saying is more nuance than what i just reduced it to… Hmmmm maybe i should read between the lines huh?

No it’s very clearly the former my friend. Unless of course you live in a black/white world were people can only operate for change in one way, or that people only complain with the explicit expectation that it will change things.

For example In a more serious context I am someone who has gone to school to get a law degree to make social change, I invest great amounts of time and effort into direct action political activism and community outreach.

Now imagine I was somewhere public and I complained to my friend about a political facet of the status quo that I wished to see changed, then you pop out of a bush from no where and scream at us that complaining is worthless because politicans dont really care about your personal disdain. You would be operating as someone essentially saying “just shut up and accept your fate” (conveintly ignoring the fact that even if this is true there is at least mutual interest on their part to keep approval ratings sufficently high as not to lose the base that keeps their power - a very relavant analogy imo.)

as @Imon_Spartan mentioned you could have offered an alterative route for change but you did not. In this analogy you poping out of the bushes offer no direct action, if you did you may be surprised by the ammount of alterantive actions already taking place…but you obviously dont partake them and so just sit on the sidelines crapping on those that do.

Simply put: If your only complaint is that other people are complaining about something you agree with, then you are at least in effect operating as a tool for those who wish for those who complain to “shut up and accept your fate”…and I cant think of a single real world example were that would paint you in a good light.

My friend if I am wrong, can you please explain to me what you would rather see as a response to 343’s complaint worthy actions that are not already being undertaken by those who currently complain?

Yup. Ive stopped playing completely and i played religiously H1 through Reach.

Its quite disappointing where this franchise is right now.

Im literally playing destiny a ton, as i habe since D1 came out but im always excited when theybrelease new content and theres so much they include as well as the level of detail. They put 343 to shame lol

Completely agree. 343i seems to be literally incapable of listening to or acting on feedback. I cannot believe how badly they ruined Infinite, after the mountain of loud, vocal feedback from Halo 5, they didn’t learn a single lesson. It’s getting worse as time goes on, it’s over for 343i. Absolutely obscene

Why is this thread still open while many others have been closed?

It’s not like it’s become any more productive of a conversation than the others have. Is it because the original post was telling people to stop complaining on the Forums?

Flase comparison. This is a video game. The steps necessary to affect change on the level of a video game are not comparable to that of a government. I get what youre saying, but youre still reducing the overarching message of the whole post to little more than a soundbite.

Lol, then go back and read the post again Mr. Law Degree. You really want to come in here and boast about having a profession that requires the most amount of reading comprehension, and then youre gonna double back and tell me you couldnt find the suggestions for course of action anywhere in this post? Sheesh, I feel bad for anyone who gets stuck with you as their lawyer…

I told people to stop playing infinite, go play MCC if you want to play Halo. If you still want to play Infinite, I suggested patience, because what other course is there? Are you gonna put a gun to the heads of the developers to speed up the development time? Seriously what even are the options here? Would YOU care to give some alternate course of action here? Since you were so adament to call me out for it?

You want my honest opinion? This is never going to happen but here goes: The fans need to completely abandon this game. And i mean completely. No more feedback, no more suggestions, no more bug reports. NOTHING. Can you imagine how deafening the silence would be if 343 had little to no one playing their game as well as no one talking about their game either? The content creators on Youtube could just make MCC content if they still need Halo. Literally anything except Infinite. The nail in the coffin would be if we got the eSports community on board, but something tells me that greed might win out the day on that front. We need a pure boycott. But my guess is that something that extreme is not going to happen
