There’s a difference between acknowledging reality and defending 343’s practice

Edit to the Edit: Since none of you can figure out what context clues are, I have to spell it out for you and risk moderation: 343 doesnt care about your disdain. With this in mind you only have 2 options: either get over it and move on or continue wasting your time shouting into the void. You all got so offended that i told you your complaints were worthless that you missed the overarching theme: 343 will not listen to feedback. You all think I’m complaining? That’s fine, i was making an attempt to remind you of the futility of your complaints, but by all means, continue in your outrage. It doesnt affect me. Like i said in the post, it only affects you. And saying things like “fire 343,” when you all are the ones who supplied them with a steady revenue stream for the past decade just sets you up to make a fool of yourselves. So do what you want. Your complaints are unheard. You all need to get over yourselves and learn how to take a hint. From 343 and from the post youre currently reading. Absurd.

Edit: Apparently everyone reading this post failed to actually understand it and would rather pretend that I’m the one dismissing their complaints instead of 343 lol. A lot of you also missed where i said meaningful change is only going to come from tanking 343’s playerbase even further. Reductionism is a sorry school indeed…

Title says it all, and 80% of you on this forum need to figure it out. (Maybe even more than 80% considering how few of you actually even understand what I’m saying)

There are some people on here acknowledging the reality that while it sucks, things will get better for Halo. Just gotta wait it out. And yea, the game shouldnt have launched this way, but it did and no amount of complaining or B-word-ing is going to change that, so just give it a rest.

Halo’s not dead. Development will continue whether you like it or not. 343 will continue to develop it whether you like it or not. Complaining about the past will accomplish nothing.

If you want meaningful change, STOP PLAYING THE GAME, STOP GIVING THEM MONEY, STOP DOING NOTHING BUT COMPLAINING.

If you want to play Halo, go play MCC and forget Infinite exists

If you want to play Infinite, then bite your tongue and recognize the absurdity in complaining about a product that you frequently enjoy. It’s like eating at a restaurant you that you hate yet still continue to eat at.

If you want to play forge and customs, then just be quiet and wait. Because you dont have another option, and complaining will not speed things up

If you want to play coop, then see the previous point^

The anger and frustration that you feel only impacts you. The consequences of your reactions are yours alone. In short, your complaints accomplish nothing when they are riddled with nothing besides, “fire 343” and “Halo is dead because delays.” Your incendiary takes are not a solution. They just illustrate your own impatience and lack of reservation.

You can both abstain from playing the game AND continue to voice your disapproval of 343’s mishandling of a franchise beloved by many.

The reality is players are tired of 343. The excuses just aren’t enough anymore. The higher ups wouldn’t of had to step in and ruin Infinite if 343 actually did their jobs two major releases ago… but instead 343 has been scrambling each release to figure out what they want to do with Halo.

Now the campaign is completely lost and I have no idea what’s going on in the universe anymore… the multiplayer model has now been completely changed from before and cut into pieces to be slowly sold back to us bit by bit over the next 10 years. And most likely, Halo will remain a cheap, plastic, free to play game from now on.

Master Chief will never get a proper conclusion, 343 will continue sticking his rotting corpse in a suit of armor and make New Cortana control the armor like a geriatric meat puppet… don’t believe me? just watch the TV show finale…

343 tried to carry the torch… I’ll give them that at least, they tried… but unfortunately it just seems like the Mantle of Responsibility was never suppose to go to 343 studios… 343 have become what they turned the Forerunners into… and that, my friends, is poetic justice.

The reality is no amount of complaining will change whats already happened.

The reality is, it’s not supposed to. it’s supposed to generate noise. Your advice to tell people to stop complaining will go unheeded. This is because people don’t just stop complaining when told their complaints do nothing. A more constructive approach might be to tell people where to direct complaints, or even begin categorizing the types of complaints into general tickets and showing 343i that these are the things we have a problem with, with issue X causing --% of the playerbase to leave, and so on.

You’re whining about people whining. If whining isn’t going to change anything, than neither will your whining.

Lol I’m not whining. I’m telling people that their complaints are worthless.

I did. If you go back and read I say to either stop playing the game or accept the reality and deal with the delays.

I dont care. I already said in my post that their complaints affect no one but themselves. And before you try to say that they affect me too by nature of this post’s existence, this post is more of an attempt to open peoples’ eyes to their own futility. At the end of the day, its not my problem.

Another post that is summed up in: “Shut up and don’t complain.”

This is a bit naive imo.
If people stop voicing their disapproval there will be less chance for change.
People aren’t trying to change the past, they’re trying to change the future.

This backlash is needed, and will be needed until they drastically change their attitudes toward fans, approaches with priorities, and goals for the franchise.

Our franchise is in their hands, their reputation is in ours.
I wish the fans simple criticisms and feedback was enough, but it obviously isn’t.
They don’t take us seriously until there is major backlash, barely even then.

It’s more along the lines of “Your complaints serve no purpose. Do something else if you want change.”

I do too, but it isnt enough. And thats the point of this post. To remind people of that. To tell them to do something different if they want things to change. Not to just complain and expect anything to happen.

343 is guilty of false advertising in regards to splitscreen coop, so wheres the class action? Some people assuredly bought this game under the pretense that 343 promised splitscreen coop, and then one day far after the games launch they just decided they didnt want to do it anymore. That’s false advertising. And complaining on forums doesnt yield consequences for it.

No, its not because as you yourself just noted, the fans simple simple criticism and feedback is obviously not enough

Look i’ve done my share of complaining on this forum, and after this update i realized something: you can either 1.) just accept the state of the game, be patient, and move on or 2.) Continue on in frustration and do something to try and affect change. But sadly, complaining on a forum has done nothing in the past and will continue to do nothing into the future, so then what does it accomplish? Well if you go back and read my post i mentioned that it only yields consequences for the person complaining. It just further boils their blood and thats their problem.

Reducing this post to a soundbite that says “shut up and dont complain” just means youre not willing enough to admit that you need to do something else to affect meaningful change.

Go back and read it again, because i’m not dismissing complaints because i dont want to hear. I’m dismissing complaints because they arent going to lead to change.

Remember the part in my post where i made multiple suggestions about what to do that would actually put pressure on 343?

I doubt that Halo Infinite can ever recover, I think its impossible for any game to recover theese days. You need to grab the momentum from start, 343 had such a good start but didnt take advantage of it.
If they just pushed out 1 map per week or 2 per month it would still attract players, and new game modes like a ranked team slayer.
Why are they having such a hard time making a ranked team slayer ?
Maybe people didnt buy as much from the store as they hoped, and thats why we didnt see any updates for a very long time, 343 was out of money after christmas 2021 and now its probably like 10 people developing the game.
I doubt that Forge Beta mode will be a comeback for Halo, they need to make it work day 1 otherwise people will loose interest once again. If Forge was fully released in December then it might be the game for christmas, but who will still have interest in June 2023 ??
This summer no one was playing the game on my friendlist, most friends has probably just uninstalled the game.

note: I am play.n Halo MCC and Battlefield 2042 till 343 and Microsoft fixes the mechanics of Halo Infinite. PERIOD!

We would not be COMPLAINING!!! if the game was not broken!!! Now would we?

It has been almost a year and we all still have a broken game!

  1. Custom Game Area has been broken since Launch!!
  2. Forge and custom Games browser has not been in the game since launch!
  3. Desync still not working since Launch!
  4. Releases of fixes and content are being delayed!

Look I love Halo but why would a company release a game that was broken?

I WON’T BUY ONE DANM THING TILL 343 AND MICROSOFT GET THERE ACT TOGETHER AND FIX THE MECHANICS OF THE GAME PERIOD!

The only people to blame is 343 and Microsoft! → Not the developers.

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

I never wondered why anyone was complaining. I said their complaints are obviously not doing anything. The piece you quoted even references this: meaningful change will not come from complaints, it will come from tanking 343’s metrics.

OK no problem but I have seen people wondering why

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

Guess i gotta make edits, because people cant be bothered to read between the lines…

Seeing as you clearly are misleading…this is what you said. You claim " because i’m not dismissing complaints because i dont want to hear. I’m dismissing complaints because they arent going to lead to change."

And yet you clearly said “You don’t care” and literally tried to blame everyone’s complaints on themselves. All you’re doing is deflecting and blaming anyone who doesn’t agree with you. That’s not “acknowledging reality” but technically ‘scape-goating’.

Talk about misleading… youre pretending like I’m blaming the fans for the failure of Halo? Nice bait lol. No i said the consequences of the complaints fall on themselves, because 343 doesnt really take them into consideration. But feel free to continue misleading while you try to pin me for misleading…

Or maybe I’m realizing that 343 doesnt care what complaints people actually have? Maybe the months of complaining havent amounted to anything more than a couple of bandaids? So if thats the case, then tell me, what good are the complaints? What purpose do they serve at this point? The only thing 343 has responded to is a hemorrhaging playerbase, nothing else.

Try again. Theres a reason i made that edit. Work on your reading comprehension lol

Well I can agree with you - the only way to make 343 change something is exactly how described: don’t play the game, don’t buy anything.
I would slightly disagree with you though on the first part “don’t play the game”. And here is why:

It is F2P and thus you actually can play the game and still “hurt” 343. There is no issue in enjoying what ist there of the game (talking multiplayer here) since the gameplay does make fun. It is quite frankly the best Halo since Halo 3 in this regard. Which makes it an even greater shame that is lacks so much content and works so poorly.
BUT then the most important rule is: DON’T SPEND ANY MONEY - literally not a single Cent.
So yeah, stop playing the game is probably the most impactful way of showing your middle finger to their current course of actions / roadmaps. But playing it without buying anything - so actually using their capacities (servers etc) - might in this case be even a bigger damage to them since that actually makes them lose money on the long run.
One could discuss of course if they’d be willing to add playable content then instead for free or put that behind a paywall or stop developing the game alltogether because they’d be running out of money or whatever.

But don’t forget: complaining and expressing your disagreement, disappointment and anger about your hobby and beloved franchise can a) help you vent a little and b)can help leading people to take the right actions (in this case, KEEPING your hard earned money and/or spending time with other Hobbies/Games/whatever)
People have to realize that they actually have power over studios and their courses but only if they can move enough others to actually take measurements.
